‘WWE Raw’ Review (May 30th 2022)
Guess who’s back reviewing WWE Raw? Nerdly that’s who! Yes, we’re getting back into regularly reviewing the WWE’s flagship show going forward. Hopefully watching and enjoying and not hate-watching though! It’s our second straight week of reviewing Raw in months, what’s in store this week? Let’s get into the review…

Match #1: Bianca Belair def. Asuka
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the final moments of an extremely hard-fought one-on-one matchup en route to the Raw Women’s Title Triple Threat Match at WWE Hell in a Cell, Bianca Belair reversed a pin attempt on Asuka to pick up the quick fall. Before she could celebrate, though, Becky Lynch suddenly left her spot on Raw commentary and attacked both Superstars without warning. After leaving The EST of WWE and The Empress of Tomorrow on the canvas, Big Time Becks walked away with huge momentum heading into Sunday’s Premium Live Event.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Match #2: Ezekiel & The Mysterios def. Kevin Owens & Alpha Academy
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio & Ezekiel against Kevin Owens and Alpha Academy, KO accidentally kicked his own partner Chad Gable. This paved the way for the double 619 by The Mysterios into an innovative suplex by “Elias’ little brother” for the huge victory before WWE Hell in a Cell.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: Alexa Bliss def. Doudrop
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After defeating her former partner and friend Nikki A.S.H. last week, The Goddess avoided Doudrop’s attack from the ropes, kicked an interfering Nikki off the apron and hit Twisted Bliss for another big win.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5
Match #4: Mustafa Ali def. Ciampa (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
During Mustafa Ali’s battle against Ciampa to earn a United States Championship opportunity at some point in the future, titleholder Theory suddenly unleashed a vicious attack on Ali and brought an end to the action by disqualification. With Ali still absolutely out of it, Theory grabbed the mic and insisted that Mustafa’s future title opportunity take place right there and then.
My Score: 1 out of 5
Match #5: United States Championship Match – Theory def. Mustafa Ali
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Moments after Mustafa Ali’s battle against Ciampa for a future U.S. Title opportunity ended with a brutal Theory attack, the titleholder insisted that match start immediately. He then continued his vicious assault on his challenger throughout the commercial before the bell even rang. In the matchup that followed, the titleholder overcame the war-torn Ali with A Town Down. As the dust cleared, WWE Official Adam Pearce declared that, although WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon had expressed confidence in Theory’s psychological tactics on Raw, he wanted to see a fair fight between them, and that match would happen for the U.S. Title at WWE Hell in a Cell on Sunday.
My Score: 1 out of 5
Match #6: Riddle & Shinsuke Nakamura def. The Usos (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With both of their partners sidelined courtesy of The Bloodline, Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura joined forces against The Usos in a Championship Contenders Match with retribution and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on their mind. Jimmy got caught attacking The Original Bro with his scooter from outside the ring. This ended the action by disqualification. When The Usos attempted a post-match attack, though, their opposition regrouped, culminating in a simply awesome RKO on Jey off the top rope.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #7: Liv Morgan def. Rhea Ripley
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Before AJ Styles, Finn Bálor & Liv Morgan’s Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match against The Judgment Day at WWE Hell in a Cell, The Phenomenal One neutralized an interfering Damian Priest outside the ring and paved the way for Liv to overcome her former friend The Nightmare with the Backstabber. Then, when order completely broke down after the matchup, Styles fought back from a Priest attack. With the help of an emerging Bálor, Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm on his attacker. Liv then hit Ripley with a dropkick off the top rope, and Bálor finished things off with the Coup de Grâce on Priest.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
A bit of a comedown from last week’s rollercoaster of an episode. This one was two good matches, a bunch of filler and some stupid storytelling. And not one but TWO disqualification finishes… WTF?! I’m not sure what’s happening in WWE these days but there seems to be a distinct lack of change, we’re getting the same thing over and over and over. But hey, Vince knows best right?
