Welcome, one and all, to this week’s results and review write up on NXT. This week we start things off with the NXT Women’s Champion, Paige, defending her title against the veteran main roster talent of Natalya. The fans seem pumped up for this match, and I am too, these two women are two of […]

Stars: Robert Redford | Written and Directed by J.C. Chandor There are many ways to tell a story. Certain stories focus on the use of words to translate unique experiences to general audiences. In rare occasions, like J.C. Chandor’s latest film All Is Lost, actions not words convey nearly every aspect of the narrative. In […]
So Infinity (w. Jonathan Hickman a. Jim Cheung, Dustin Weaver) concluded what’s been an interesting if not exactly mind-blowing run. The Avengers return to earth to sort out Thanos and his nasty mates, Maximus of the Inhumans cracks wise and saves the world and Rocket Raccoon makes an all-too brief (like, one panel appearance). The […]
Stars: Bruce Dern, June Squibb, Will Forte, Stacy Keach, Bob Odenkirk | Written by Bob Nelson | Directed by Alexander Payne Alexander Payne’s latest film Nebraska is a soothing venture that goes down easy like a gentle folksong. It embodies the personality of its rustic characters with a straightforward approach that is unaware of its own honesty. […]
Stars: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, John Goodman, Melissa McCarthy, Jeffrey Tambor, Heather Graham, Mike Epps, Sasha Barrese, Jamie Chung | Written by Todd Phillips, Craig Mazin | Directed by Todd Phillips The Hangover Part III bills itself as the ‘epic finale to the Hangover trilogy’, which is pretty bold stuff for what is ostensibly a fairly knock-about, […]
Last month (November 23rd & 24th to be precise) saw the MCM Comic Con and Memorabilia show take place at the NEC in Birmingham. We were there on the Saturday, checking out all the delights on offer and spending way too much money (on Blu-rays, Funko Pop vinyls and much more) and grabbing autographs and […]
When you watch social media it’s always interesting to see what people find funny, or what they are a fan of. One thing I’ve noticed when it comes to comedy on television is that some people see Mrs Brown’s Boys as the worst comedy you could watch, and I can’t help but wonder why? I […]
Welcome to this week’s results and review of WWE RAW. The first RAW of December is under way. The show opens with “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour playing and CM Punk making his way down the aisle and to the squared circle as we see a replay of The Shield attacking Punk last week. […]
When it comes to television shows it’s fair to say that Kevin Williamson knows what he is doing. He’s worked on successes like Dawson’s Creek and The Vampire Diaries and they were (and are) fairly big successes. With The Following I heard good things, but in watching it for review I can’t help but feel […]
Stars: James Franco, Jason Statham, Rachelle Lefevre, Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth | Written by Sylvester Stallone | Directed by Gary Fleder As regular readers will know, I always start reviews of Jason Statham films with a with an acknowledgment that regular readers will already know that I really like Jason Statham films, perhaps with a […]
Stars: Danny Dyer, Roxanne McKee, Vincent Regan, Bruce Payne, Emma Samms, Nick Nevern | Written and Directed by Stephen Reynolds Danny Dyer is an actor who tends to take a lot of flak for his acting. In Vendetta I won’t say his performance is Oscar worthy but you get exactly what you expect, and that is Danny […]
There are many things that make Adam Hills a good comedian, but the fact is he is more than that and it’s all from his own choice. When the Special Olympics were riding the success of the Olympics and making people realise that this sports events were just as important, he became in many ways […]
I will admit this week feels like a long week, turns out watching so many stand-up comedy DVD releases is a tiring task. I’ve sat through the comedy created to shock, the comedy related to make you think a little and comedy that didn’t really need brain power at all. I’ve still got a few […]
The History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment begins with Vince McMahon getting out of his car at WWE headquarters in Connecticut and greeting employees as he makes his way to his office on the top floor of what was once known as TitanTowers. The documentary portion of this release begins at the beginning, […]

The name Sean Lock: Purple Van Man is very fitting. I saw him do an interview about the release and he said that what he was aiming for was to be the “white van man” of comedy, only where a white van man believes he knows everything, the Purple Van Man doesn’t really know anything, […]

Stars: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Noah Emmerich, Holly Taylor, Keidrich Sellati | Created by Joseph Weisberg There’s this plot conceit that many shows, especially thrillers have. Call it a ticking timebomb conceit to perhaps call to mind a sneaky metaphor. It’s the idea that someone, has a secret, perhaps a dangerous one, brewing way beneath the surface. A […]
