Well, The Iron Shiek is the real and NXT starts now you jabroni piece of shit. Go f-ck yourself!

Match #1: Finn Bálor def. Adam Cole – NXT Championship Match

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The two longest-reigning NXT Champions in history waged an epic duel to decide the fate of the vacant title. Finn Bálor controlled much of the action with a deliberate, punishing pace, though Adam Cole rallied with a furious string of offensive maneuvers. He later incapacitated The Prince with a massive superkick on the outside, countering Bálor’s attempt at a John Woo dropkick. Bálor appeared to be in dire straits as Cole worked on his knee, applying a Figure-Four Leglock multiple times to inflict serious damage. The Prince fought through the pain to deliver a Coup de Grace, only for Cole to kick out. But Bálor later one-upped his foe, kicking out after being blasted by Cole’s Last Shot. Finally, Bálor found a way to prevail, busting out a massive 1916 DDT from the top rope to become just the third two-time NXT Champion.

My Opinion: 4.1 out of 5 – This was even better than last week’s match, with a lot of fierce action that was like a lawn-dart to the heart. Finn and Adam smacked the salmon out of each other, because the Unabomber was too busy being too soon to be referenced in this review. What a hell of a way to start the card off, bubba. Beat it midget. Everything about this felt like a major prize fight gone right, from one move to the next. This was absolutely an epic of a high caliber that should not be ignored. Finn winning was the right call, as he’s the biggest star in NXT and should have been the one to take the title off of Keith Lee in the first place. Finn and Adam as a feud will be a great thing to anchor the rest of the year with, if they do go through with that as teased. I loved this match and wished it was the finale of the card, instead of the opener.

Match #2: The Velveteen Dream def. Ashantee “Thee” Adonis

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Ashantee “Thee” Adonis impressed with a fast start against Velveteen Dream, but His Purple Highness claimed victory after spiking him with a Dream Valley Driver. Dream seemed poised to address the NXT Universe, but Kushida attacked him and unveiled a vicious side of his own, locking on a rope-assisted cross armbreaker until officials could peel him away. Nevertheless, Kushida finally gained retribution after Dream assaulted him following a match last month.

My Opinion: 2.4 out of 5 – Tehuti Miles has become this Adonis character and he actually squashed Dream the whole time, but still lost when an errant kick to the referee was avoided gave Dream a chance for a roll-up.

Match #3: Bronson Reed def. Austin Theory

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Not even finally stepping into the ring with Bronson Reed was enough to get Austin Theory to stop running his mouth, but All Day eventually paid the price. Theory got overzealous, his body giving way when he tried to hoist The Aus-zilla on his shoulders. Reed took advantage, crushing Theory with the “Tsunami” for the victory.

My Opinion: 3.6 out of 5 – This was a strong match Theory sold like crazy for. Really, it was his performance that made this so good. Theory, when he’s not being accused of being a pervert, wrestles like Chris Benoit, which is not a great combination considering he’s been accused of being a pervert, but it makes the matches good. Reed did well here as well, stomping around the ring like Roseanne when-ever some-body reminds her of how evil she is. You could put these two back together any-time…unless Reed is actually a thirteen year old girl.

Match #4: Roderick Strong def. Killian Dain

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Roderick Strong’s Undisputed ERA ally Bobby Fish proved to be his ace in the hole, pulling Strong out of the way of Killian Dain’s potential top-rope attack. Dain clocked Fish, but it left him vulnerable to a blistering jumping knee strike by Strong to suffer defeat. The Undisputed ERA looked to continue the onslaught until Drake Maverick saved Dain with a lead pipe in hand. Maverick offered Dain a handshake, only to catch a giant haymaker to the face.

My Opinion: 3.2 out of 5 – This was disappointing in that it wasn’t as good as it could have been, but it’s not bad at all. Strong and Dain were getting somewhere before they were prematurely stopped by the booking. Hey, we gotta make room for talking segments, don’t we? Well, at least these guys tried to make this into some-thing great.

Match #5: (Main Event) Rhea Ripley def. Mercedes Martinez – Steel Cage Match

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

As if a Steel Cage Match wouldn’t be brutal enough, Mercedes Martinez introduced a Kendo stick and several steel chairs into the ring before the match even began. Rhea Ripley seized the upper hand against her rival when she caught her by surprise before she entered the ring, also adding a table to the plethora of instruments available. But Martinez was the first to dish out significant punishment, powerslamming Ripley on a steel chair and later delivering a German suplex from the top rope. The Nightmare demonstrated her grit, using the Kendo stick to fight off not only Mercedes but also Robert Stone, who attempted to climb his way over the cage and into the ring. Ripley blocked Martinez’s potential superplex attempt, instead delivering a Riptide in gigantic fashion from the second rope through a table to stand tall as the winner of The Battle of The Badasses.

My Opinion: 4 out of 5 – This was a Street Fight in a Steel Cage and I got a Street Rash just from watching it. Rhea and Mercedes is the match I never realized I wanted to see, but here it is and it’s great. It shouldn’t have been the main event, but that’s because we had a major NXT Championship match on this card. I loved how aggressive this was, not just for women, but for any wrestler. Anyone that says that a woman fighting a man isn’t believable is full of shit. You gotta keep these two wrestling each other. Because this match had…The Right Stuff…CHUCK YEAGER!

News Of The Night:

  1. Io Shirai fights Shotzi Blackheart, next week.

Final Verdict: 3.9/5

This card needed to be re-organized and a few matches lengthened, but this was still fabulous stuff any-way.
