‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Apr 24th 2026)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this pre-Wrestlemania show!

Match #1: Women’s United States Championship – Tiffany Stratton def. Giulia

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The SmackDown after WrestleMania proved to once again be Tiffy Time as Tiffany Stratton overcame Giulia with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to capture the Women’s United States Championship.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Brie Bella & Paige vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (No Contest)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Fatal Influence emerged on SmackDown during a teg team showdown pitting WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reed attacked all four Superstars.

My Score: N/A out of 5

Match #3: WWE Tag Team Championship – R-Truth & Damian Priest def. Tama Tonga & JC Mateo

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

R-Truth and Damian Priest successfully defended the WWE Tag Team Title against Tama Tonga and JC Mateo following a Rise Up.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: Danhausen def. The Miz

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Danhausen combined an explosive curse and a “Quickhausen” to defeat The Miz in a very nice, very evil showdown.

My Score: 1.5 out of 5

Match #5: Rhea Ripley def. Jacy Jayne (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Fatal Influence continued to make a statement on SmackDown by interrupting the match between WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Jacy Jayne and ambushing The Eradicator with a ruthless 3-on-1 attack.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #6: Jacob Fatu def. Solo Sikoa

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After Jacob Fatu earned an impressive win against Solo Sikoa with the Mighty Moonsault, he repelled a post-match assault from The MFTs and beat down the faction.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

For a post-Wrestlemania Smackdown, this felt surprisingly flat. Outside of the intrigue surrounding Fatal Influence wreaking havoc and Jacob Fatu continuing to look like an absolute monster, very little here rose above “serviceable TV.” Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia should have felt far bigger than it did, the tag title bout was forgettable, and Danhausen vs. The Miz was pure novelty that didn’t land. The repeated interference and DQ-heavy booking didn’t help matters either, making large chunks of the show feel like angle progression rather than satisfying wrestling. Fatu vs. Solo gave the show its strongest moment and salvaged things somewhat, but overall this was a disappointing follow-up to Mania, lacking the energy and surprises you’d hope for from this slot on the calendar.
