‘WWE NXT’ Review (Mar 31st 2026)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: TNA World Champion Mike Santana & OTM def. DarkState

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

TNA World Champion Mike Santana shined in his return to NXT as he led Bronco Nima and Lucien Price to a huge victory over DarkState. The New York City faithful were on fire for their fellow New Yorker Santana as the TNA star took Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox single handedly. The numbers game caught up to him, but Nima and Price returned to the action just in time to even the odds. With the action at its craziest, Santana hit Spin The Block which allowed OTM to pick the bones and score the win.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Los Americanos def. BirthRight

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Rayo and Bravo Americano are headed to NXT Stand & Deliver for a championship opportunity after beating BirthRight in a No. 1 Contender’s Match. Los Americanos were on their game early with Bravo feeling so confident that he even took a dance break with an unknowing Arianna Grace. Lexis King got involved and cracked Bravo with his cane, but Shiloh Hill arrived and chased him off. Shortly after, El Grande Americano appeared and that distraction allowed Bravo to load the steel plate into the mask, knocking out Uriah Connors and delivering his team the victory.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #3: Jaida Parker def. Kelani Jordan

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Jaida Parker picked up one of the biggest wins of her career as she knocked Kelani Jordan inside Madison Square Garden. The two proved to be equally talented, but the Big Apple crowd refused to let Ms. Parker fall to her rival. The Hip-notic followed by the Drive By gave Parker the win and firmly established herself as one of the Superstars in the stacked NXT women’s division.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #4: Keanu Carver def. Jasper Troy

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The titanic rivalry between Keanu Carver and Jasper Troy seems far from over after Josh Briggs overstepped as the special guest referee. Carver was on a tear, at one point even attacking a fan, but Troy caught up to him and planted him through the announce table. However, after receiving a shove from Troy, Briggs leveled him with a clothesline which allowed Carver to pick up the win.

My Score: SQUASH out of 5

Match #5: Kendal Grey vs. Lola Vice (Dusty Finish)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The No. 1 Contendership Match between Lola Vice and Kendal Grey ended in controversial fashion and without a clear winner. Vice managed to crack Grey with her signature Spinning Backfist, but it knocked Grey out of the ring just as NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and the rest of Fatal Influence arrived at ringside. The two Superstars traded incredible blows with Vice locking in a Guillotine submission, but Grey countered with a Northern Lights Suplex, leading to a highly controversial simultaneous pin and submission. The chaos forced WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels to come down to the ring with no clear winner in sight.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This week’s NXT felt like a show caught between delivering solid in-ring action and spinning its wheels with overbooked finishes. The opener saw Mike Santana and OTM bring the energy, with Santana looking every bit the star on his return, while Los Americanos punching their ticket to Stand & Deliver kept things moving nicely. Jaida Parker’s win over Kelani Jordan continued her rise, though it didn’t quite hit that next level, and Keanu Carver vs. Jasper Troy devolved into chaos that did neither man any real favours. The standout came in the main event, where Lola Vice and Kendal Grey delivered the night’s best work, only for a dusty finish to undercut a genuinely gripping contest. That’s the story of this episode in a nutshell: good wrestling, frustrating booking. A perfectly watchable show, but one that leans too heavily on interference and non-finishes to feel truly satisfying.
