‘WWE NXT’ Review (Mar 24th 2026)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey def. Fatal Influence

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Kendal Grey lifted The WrenQCC to a big win over Fatal Influence, and she has her sights set on Jacy Jayne and the NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne next. Fatal Influence normally has a stronger synergism than other teams they face, but Sinclair and Grey were their equals in that regard thanks to their incredible mat skills and timely tag-ins. However, a cheap shot from Reid leveled Sinclair and gave them an advantage. Sinclair finally managed to tag in Grey and the former Evolve Women’s Champion shined, bringing the fight right to Reid. As Reid locked in an armbar, Sinclair did the same with a Final Wrench, leading to a major victory for the duo. After the match, Grey called her shot against Jayne, but Lola Vice came out and argued for her own championship opportunity, leading to a No. 1 Contender’s Match being set for NXT in New York City.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Kelani Jordan def. Thea Hail

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Kelani Jordan made a major statement by crushing Thea Hail in a matchup between former Women’s North American Champions. Jordan looked strong the entire matchup, ending it with her signature One of a Kind Moonsault. She attempted to beat Hail down after the match, but Jaida Parker arrived on scene to thwart the assault.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: North American Championship No. 1 Contender Gauntlet Match – Winner: Johnny Gargano

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

NXT legend Johnny Gargano returned to the brand he dominated for years, broke out of his slump, and became the No. 1 Contender to the NXT North American Championship. Up first in the gauntlet was Shiloh Hill and Jackson Drake kicked things off, but neither could find a fall before the time limit elapsed which allowed Dion Lennox to enter. Charlie Dempsey came out fourth, leading to Gargano’s epic return in the fifth and final spot. Lennox was the first Superstar to be eliminated after Bronco Nima and Lucien Price attacked him at ringside and sent him crashing through the barricade. Drake and Dempsey fell by Hill’s hands next, leaving just the near-catatonic Gargano left. However, Birth Right attacked Hill after he eliminated Dempsey, and one swift push from Candice LeRae allowed Gargano to fall into the cover and earn his first victory in months.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Match #4: NXT Tag Team Tournament – Los Americanos def. The Culling

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Rayo and Bravo Americano returned to NXT and picked up a win in the No. 1 Contender NXT Tag Team Tournament. Shawn Spears and Niko Vance weren’t phased by the change in opponent, but they couldn’t overcome classic Los Americanos trickery. Both Rayo and Bravo slipped metal plates into their masks, using them to stun Spears and score the win, earning them a match against Birth Right next week.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #5: Tony D’Angelo def. Ricky Saints (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Ricky Saints and Tony D’Angelo battled to a near draw, ending in a disqualification when Ethan Page nailed Tony D with a chop block. With Ethan Page watching at ringside, Saints used his ring savvy to keep the powerhouse off balance, at one point even sending him into the steel ring steps. Saints’ onslaught backfired as it only fired his opponent, prompting Page to slide in the ring and attack D’Angelo. As the two destroyed Tony D, NXT Champion Joe Hendry appeared and evened the odds before hitting D’Angelo with a Standing Ovation. As the dust settled, Interim NXT General Manager Robert Stone revealed that all four Superstars will meet in a Fatal 4-Way Match at NXT Stand & Deliver.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This week’s NXT was a solid, easy watch that leaned heavily on storyline progression rather than delivering a truly standout in-ring show. The opening tag match between Wren Sinclair & Kendal Grey and Fatal Influence set a good tone, while Kelani Jordan vs. Thea Hail felt more like a setup segment than a must-see bout. The highlight of the night was the North American Title No.1 Contender gauntlet, with Johnny Gargano’s return giving the episode its biggest moment and the strongest match of the show. The tag tournament match delivered some fun heel antics from Los Americanos, and the D’Angelo vs. Ricky Saints main event advanced the Stand & Deliver picture, even if the DQ finish made it feel more like angle development than a true payoff. Overall, nothing here was bad, but only the gauntlet match really rose above the weekly TV standard. A consistent show, just not a memorable one.
