‘TNA Wrestling’ Review (Jan 15th 2026)
Welcome to this week’s review of TNA Wrestling. Let’s get straight into the episode and see what went down on the first show in the new “AMC era” of TNA Impact… hell, it can’t be any worse than last week’s AXS TV finale!

Match #1: The Hardys (Matt & Jeff) & Elijah def. Order 4 (Mustafa Ali & The Great Hands)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Elijah joins forces with TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys to battle Mustafa Ali and The Great Hands of Order 4! Elijah sends Ali face-first into the turnbuckle. Jeff hits Ali with the Twist of Fate. Jeff is headed to the top for the Swanton Bomb but Tasha Steelz gets in his way. Matt connects with a double Twist of Fate on Ali and Steelz! Jeff puts Skyler away with the Twist of Fate to win.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship – The Elegance Brand (Heather & M By Elegance) def. The IInspiration (Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
The TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Titles are on the line as The IInspiration defend against The Elegance Brand! Sol Ruca and Zaria are seen watching from backstage. Jessie McKay brings the fight to Heather and M By Elegance. The Personal Concierge pulls Jessie off the pin. Cassie pushes Heather off the top, sending her crashing to the floor. The IInspiration go for the IIdolizer but Mr. Elegance gets involved. M rolls up Cassie to steal the victory!
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: TNA World Championship – Mike Santana def. Frankie Kazarian
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
It’s main event time on the premiere of Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC as Mike Santana challenges Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Championship! Bully Ray joins Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary. It’s a stalemate in the early going as both competitors counter each other’s finishers. Santana leaps over the top rope, taking out Kazarian on the floor. Santana continues the aerial assault with a springboard crossbody to the outside. Kazarian turns the tide with his signature leg drop. Kazarian counters the Rolling Buck 50 into a Backstabber. Minutes later, Santana successfully hits the Rolling Buck 50, then picks Kazarian off the top with a Spanish Fly. Santana almost puts him away with the Code Red. Kazarian hits the Slingshot Cutter, followed by another leg drop for two. Kazarian inadvertently collides with the referee. Santana has Kazarian beat following Spin the Block but there’s no referee to make the count. Kazarian smashes the title between Santana’s eyes, then hits Fade to Black on the apron. Santana kicks out at two, then connects with another Spin the Block. Santana hits one final Spin the Block to become the new TNA World Champion!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
News of the Night:
- Daria Rae (fka Sonya Deville) made her TNA debut as a new GM/Authority figure
- Elayna Black (fka Cora Jade) debuted as the new signing of Daria Rae
- The Elegance Brand unveiled “Mr. Elegance” – who turned out to be OVW’s A.J.Z. (Andreas John Ziegler)
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
Wow. Just wow. We had an incredibly weak episode of TNA to end their AXS TV era and guess what? They delivered an incredibly weak episode for their first show on AMC too! Worst of all? Three matches. THREE(!) matches. What the actual f**k? Production values still in the toilet, poor presentation all round, yeah, this is still TNA – no matter the network! That said, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Santana finally getting his moment with the World Title was the right call and the one genuinely feel-good moment of the night, even if the match itself never quite hit the level the occasion deserved. The debuts of Daria Rae and Elayna Black add some much-needed intrigue to the Knockouts division, and there’s at least the promise of direction there. But promise doesn’t carry a flagship show on a new network. Three matches, overbooked finishes, and presentation that still looks like it’s stuck in the past made this feel less like a bold new era and more like business as frustratingly usual. If this is meant to be TNA’s fresh start on AMC, they’re going to need to show a lot more ambition, and fast. For now, it’s a limp debut that leaves you hoping next week actually looks like a step forward, rather than another missed opportunity.
