‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Sep 26th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: WWE Tag Team Champions No. 1 Contenders Match – The Street Profits def. Melo Don’t Miz

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Miz once again tagged himself into the match, Carmelo Hayes grabbed his partner’s arm to show that he was not pleased. This dispute cost Melo Don’t Miz valuable moments and allowed The Street Profits to seize the advantage. The explosive tandem ultimately picked up the victory on the back of Montez Ford’s From the Heavens and, as the result, Ford and Angelo Dawkins become the No. 1 Contender to WWE Tag Team Champions Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #2: Giulia & Kiana James def. Michin & B-Fab

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Women’s United States Champion Giulia and Kiana James scored a controversial victory after James raked Michin’s eyes and paved the way for onslaught that ended with Giulia’s hitting for the three-count.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: United States Title Open Challenge – Sami Zayn def. Je’Von Evans

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In his fourth United States Championship Challenge, Sami Zayn overcame NXT’s very game Je’Von Evans with a Helluva KIck / Blue Thunder Bomb combination.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: Triple Threat WWE Women’s Championship – Tiffany Stratton def. Jade Cargill and Nia Jax

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the height of a high stakes Triple Threat Match, Tiffany Stratton hit Jade Cargill with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to successful defend her WWE Women’s Championship and earn the right to battle Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for the Crown Jewel Championship.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2/5

I’m sorry, but what the hell was this episode? Dull matches that didn’t get the live crowd excited; numerous botches – including THAT ending to the main event, which went immediately viral; and a waste of the better talent involved on the show (Guila I’m looking at you). What a disappointing episode. WOrst Smackdown of the year maybe?
