by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Lights Out Match – Myles Borne def. Lexis King

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Myles Borne and Lexis King took their rivalry to a whole new level as the two battled in an unforgiving Lights Out Match. Borne took matters into his own hands and whipped King with a belt before driving him through the barricade with a Spear. King seemed to have the upperhand, but Borne flew off the steel steps and hit Borne Again through a table to put his rival down once and for all.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Lainey Reid def. Candice LeRae

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Lainey Reid punched her ticket to No Mercy by defeating the veteran Candice LeRae in a Speed Match. Reid cracked LeRae with a vicious knee strike to become the No. 1 Contender to Sol Ruca’s Speed Title.

My Score: 1 out of 5

Match #3: Jordynne Grace def. Arianna Grace

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Jordynne Grace conquered Arianna Grace in a singles match thanks to a huge spinning sit out slam. After the match, Blake Monroe hit the scene and the pair attacked each other with weapons

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: DarkState def. Joe Hendry & Chase U

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars silenced the team of Joe Hendry, Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. Hendry and Chase U showed strong chemistry, but they couldn’t overcome the sheer ferocity of DarkState. The dangerous group isolated Connors and hit him with their signature Power Bomb to end the match and reassert their dominance in NXT.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #5: NXT Champion Oba Femi vs. TNA World Champion Trick Williams (No Contest)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

NXT Champion Oba Femi and TNA World Champion Trick Williams weren’t able to decide a winner as the TNA locker room invaded NXT to kick off a major brawl between the two brands.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

Despite a few standout moments, this episode of NXT left more frustration than excitement. From throwaway squashes to rushed women’s matches that never had time to breathe. The main event promised a huge “winner takes all” showdown, only to end in disqualification and a messy invasion angle that overshadowed the actual wrestling. While the brand-war chaos may appeal to some, it came off more like noise than a meaningful build. Instead of leaving fans hyped for No Mercy, the show closed on an overbooked note.
