‘WWE NXT’ Review (Aug 12th 2025)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Nia Jax def. Lash Legend
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Irresistible Force came to NXT and she conquered as Nia Jax defeated Lash Legend in an incredible singles match. The Boujee Bully brought the fight right to Jax, but it quickly devolved into a fight as they incorporated the steel steps and even the announce table. Legend attempted to suplex Jax through the announce table, but the former Women’s World Champion countered it and smashed her through the table. The Boujee Bully somehow beat the count and continued to rally, but her powerbomb attempt was countered into a vicious Annihilator that put her down for the count.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #2: Joe Hendry def. Charlie Dempsey
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Wren Sinclair said his name and Charlie Dempsey felt his wrath as Joe Hendry picked up the win against the No Quarter Catch Crew star. Dempsey tried using his technical wrestling prowess to disarm the TNA Superstar, but the NXT Universe refused to let Hendry stay down for long. A furious rally punctuated by a Standing Ovation gave Hendry the win and sent Dempsey and what’s left of the No Quarter Catch Crew spiraling.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #3: Kelani Jordan & Lola Vice def. Fatal Influence
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The hunt to dethrone Jacy Jayne got a lot more interesting after Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan teamed up to defeat Fatal Influence in a tag team match. Jayne and Fallon Henley competed in the match which allowed Jazmyn Nyx to run interference for them, but it didn’t work as Vice and Jordan powered through and focused on the task at hand. Nyx’s second attempt to distract the official backfired as Vice managed to crack Jayne with a vicious spinning backfist, allowing Jordan to hit her One of a Kind split-legged moonsault to earn the win.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #4: Alba Fyre def. Kendal Grey
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
“Slaygent A” Alba Fyre defends Chelsea Green’s honor against the upstart Kendal Grey in her return to action in NXT. Grey was up for the challenge and put a scare into Fyre, but the SmackDown Superstar used her veteran savvy to pick up the win.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: DarkState def. Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans & Moose
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James are on a dominant run in NXT and have added the biggest win of their young careers. Je’Von Evans was determined to keep his team afloat and went off with an array of aerial moves, but his team just couldn’t quite stay on the same page. NXT Champion Oba Femi and Moose were all in on defeating DarkState, but at the first sign of trouble, TNA World Champion Trick Williams bailed on The Young OG which allowed DarkState to pick up the win. After the match, NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank hit the scene and attacked DarkState to end the night on a chaotic scene.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
This week’s show delivered a strong mix of action and storyline momentum. Nia Jax and Lash Legend tore into each other in a brutal opener, while Joe Hendry made an impressive return with a decisive win over Charlie Dempsey. Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice scored a big tag victory, and Alba Fyre’s match was overshadowed by Tyra Mae Steele’s dominant post-match assault. The main event, an eight-man tag, was chaotic, with DarkState emerging victorious before a surprise Hank & Tank attack closed the show. Fast-paced, hard-hitting, and unpredictable, this episode kept the energy high from start to finish.
