‘WWE Smackdown’ Review’ (Jul 25th 2025)
Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Roxanne Perez def. Alexa Bliss
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After last week’s battle between Charlotte Flair and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez, their partners, Alexa Bliss and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Roxanne Perez, collided. Bliss went for Sister Abigail, but Perez raked the eyes of her opponent. Rodriguez interfered as well, leading to Flair sending Rodriguez over the timekeeper’s area. As Bliss was about to execute Twisted Bliss, Rodriguez attacked Flair, which forced Bliss to hit a top-rope Twisted Bliss onto Rodriguez on the floor. The fracas at ringside allowed Perez to roll up Bliss while using the ropes for the win.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #2: Jade Cargill def. Chelsea Green
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Jade Cargill attacked Chelsea Green backstage while Green was being interviewed by Cathy Kelley, leading to an impromptu match as Cargill dragged Green from the backstage area to the mat. Cargill put Green away in quick fashion with Jaded. After the match, Alba Fyre and Piper Niven assaulted Cargill, but they were thwarted by WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton as the two SummerSlam opponents fended off The Secret Hervice.
My Score: 0 out of 5
Match #3: Jacob Fatu def. The Miz
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After a slap from a returning Miz to Jacob Fatu, The A-Lister and The Samoan Werewolf teed off in the ring. As Fatu and The Awesome One were getting started, United States Champion Solo Sikoa and The MFTs made their way to ringside. Fatu took out The MFTs at ringside before layout out The Miz with a pop-up Samoan Drop to win the match. After the bout, The MFTs beat down Fatu before Jimmy Uso tried to help Fatu. Unfortunately for Fatu and Uso, The MFTs stood tall.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #4: Andrade & Rey Fenix def. The Wyatt Sicks (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks waged war with the undefeated team of Andrade and Rey Fenix. Just as Andrade sent The Message to Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross pulled the referee out of the ring during a pinfall attempt, resulting in a disqualification. After the match, Fraxiom, The Street Profits, #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns charged the ring and ignited a brawl between the SmackDown tag teams. This forced SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to make a huge announcement that the WWE Tag Team Title will be defended in a Six-Pack Tag Team TLC Match at SummerSlam!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
Despite the emotional weight of the Hulk Hogan tribute that opened the show, this week’s Smackdown felt disjointed and underwhelming. The tribute itself was well-handled, but it overshadowed much of the actual wrestling content. Matches were short and largely forgettable, with Roxanne Perez vs. Alexa Bliss being a rare highlight. Jade Cargill’s squash of Chelsea Green felt like filler, and Cody Rhodes’ promo lacked the punch it needed to elevate his Summerslam feud. The chaotic main event setup for the tag titles came off rushed and overbooked. Overall, it was a flat episode that struggled to balance reverence with relevance.
