‘TNA: Slammiversary 2025’ PPV Review

This year’s TNA: Slammiversary was a wild night packed with surprises, title changes, cross-promotional clashes, and the return of some legendary names. TNA leaned heavily into its multi-brand momentum, delivering a chaotic but memorable show with something for every fan.
The night kicked off hot with Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali renewing their long-standing rivalry. Their intense opening bout saw Alexander hit suplexes on the floor and a top-rope Michinoku Driver into a pile of bodies. But outside interference from Ali’s Order 4 stable, including a reappearing Tasha Steelz, proved too much. Alexander nearly won with a Lumbar Check, but Ali ultimately secured the victory after surviving the chaos and hitting a second 450 Splash.
In an eight-man tag team war, The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC), joined by Matt Cardona, battled NXT’s rising faction DarkState. The brawl began before the bell and never let up. Cutler James shined early, but momentum shifted after a spear from Myers and a triple powerbomb on Cardona. The finish came after a string of finishers, capped off by Radio Silence and Boston Knee Party to give The System the win.
Tessa Blanchard vs. Indi Hartwell was a grudge match steeped in personal animosity. Blanchard targeted Hartwell’s leg throughout, but Indi rallied with a superplex and a series of clotheslines. After both kicked out of each other’s finishers, Hartwell finally put Blanchard away with a combo of Hurts Donut into the ropes and a Full Nelson Slam. Post-match, Blanchard viciously attacked Hartwell and slapped interviewer Gia Miller, prompting Santino Marella to eject her and later announce an indefinite suspension.
In the highly anticipated Title vs. Title bout, Masha Slamovich and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne put it all on the line. With interference from Fatal Influence and Fallon Henley, Jayne had the early advantage. Slamovich battled back with an Air Raid Crash and the Snow Plow, but referee shenanigans allowed Jayne to recover and hit the Rolling Encore to win both the NXT and Knockouts Championships. The match was messy but impactful, ending with TNA President Carlos Silva handing Jayne her new title.
Leon Slater stole the show by dethroning Moose in an X-Division classic. Slater countered Moose’s power at every turn with innovative offense, including a hurricanrana off the apron and a Code Red on the floor. Despite a Spear from Moose, Slater kicked out and hit two Swanton 450s to win the match and become the youngest X-Division Champion in TNA history. AJ Styles made a shocking return afterward, celebrating with Slater and recognizing TNA as where his own career began.
In the Four-Way Ladder Match for the TNA World Tag Team Championships, The Hardys emerged victorious over The Nemeths, The Rascalz, and FIR$T CLA$$. Myron Reed replaced the injured Trey Miguel for The Rascalz and delivered some wild offence, including the Flame On cutter. Ladders were shattered, production rigs were climbed, and Jeff Hardy delivered multiple Swanton Bombs, including one to AJ Francis through a table. Matt steadied the ladder as Jeff retrieved the titles, crowning The Hardys four-time TNA Tag Champions. Bully Ray then returned and laid down the challenge: Team 3D vs. The Hardys one more time at Bound For Glory.
In the main event, Trick Williams defended the TNA World Championship in a triple threat match against Mike Santana and Joe Hendry. The pace was blistering, with Hendry and Santana working together briefly before Trick fought back with a double clothesline. Hendry hit the Standing Ovation but had his pin attempt interrupted by Frankie Kazarian, who was ejected from ringside. Santana appeared to have the match won after two Spin the Block finishers, but Trick recovered just in time, tossed Santana out, and pinned Hendry to steal the win.
Final Verdict:
Slammiversary 2025 was a wild, action-heavy event that balanced chaos with strong in-ring performances. With multiple title changes, huge returns, and strong storytelling across the board, TNA delivered a memorable show that moves key storylines forward while paying homage to its legacy.
