‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Jul 11th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Fatal 4-Way Match – Alexa Bliss def. Roxanne Perez, Kairi Sane and Sol Ruca

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The twisted Alexa Bliss picked up a huge victory before Evolution as she defeated Roxanne Perez, Kairi Sane and NXT North American Champion Sol Ruca in Fatal 4-Way action. The NXT standout shined early on, using her athleticism to stun her opponents, even hitting a double Sol Snatcher on Sane and Perez. Raquel Rodriguez saved her partner but it sparked a fight on the outside that left Charlotte as the only Superstar left standing. Inside the ring, Bliss countered the Insane Elbow and hit her Sister Abigail DDT to win the match.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: WWE Tag Team Championship – The Wyatt Sicks def. The Street Profits

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

SmackDown has new Tag Team Champions as Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis defeated Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins to win the WWE Tag Team Title. With Uncle Howdy eerily watching at the top of the ramp, Dawkins and Ford shined early on using their immaculate synergy and tag team acumen to gain the early advantage. The resilient Gacy and Lumis battled back and even hit their signature assisted powerbomb, but it wasn’t enough to end the match. After a perfect Frog Splash from Ford, Erick Rowan came down to ringside and pulled Ford out of the ring, only to get taken out by Dawkins. However, that left Ford all alone for a huge Suplex/Sitout Powerbomb combo to win the WWE Tag Team Title.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #3: R-Truth def. Aleister Black

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Ron Killings is back in the win column as he stunned Aleister Black in singles competition. Black aimed to get payback on Truth, but the veteran caught him in a roll up and won the match.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: LA Knight & Jimmy Uso def. Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

LA Knight and Jimmy Uso teamed up for a huge tage team victory over Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo, but they felt the wrath of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Talla Tonga and Tonga Loa watched at ringside as the teams waged war inside the ring, with the hulking Tonga even laying out The Megastar with a Big Boot. Uso took advantage of the chaos at ringside and rolled up his brother to score the win.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

LA Knight opened this week’s show with a strong, tense promo, interrupted by Solo Sikoa’s newly hardened faction, lighting the fuse for the title clash ahead. Alexa Bliss stole the show in a chaotic fatal‑four with Perez, Sane, and Ruca. The Wyatt Sicks shocked everyone (and pleased me) by dethroning the Street Profits as Tag Team Champions, courtesy of Erick Rowan’s interference. Aleister Black’s match with R‑Truth was brief but unexpected. Overall, this was a storyline‑heavy episode that laid decent foundations for Evolution and Saturday Night’s Main Event.
