Howard J. Ford dives into underground terror with ‘Bone Keeper’

by Phil Wheat

Get ready to fear the dark all over again: indie horror master Howard J. Ford (Never Let Go, The Ledge, Escape) has just wrapped his latest monster movie, Bone Keeper, and it’s bringing some serious legend-hunting, cave-dwelling terror.

The film follows six friends who venture deep into a remote cave system chasing the myth of the “Bone Keeper,” only to find themselves fighting to survive something far more real and far more deadly lurking in the depths. Think claustrophobic horror, ancient creatures, and survival against impossible odds.

Genre icon John Rhys-Davies (Gimli from The Lord of the Rings, Sallah from Indiana Jones) leads the cast, alongside Sarah Alexandra Marks, Louis James, Tiffany Hannam-Daniels, Sophia Eleni, Danny Rahim, Tyler Winchcombe, and Nerdly genre fave Sarah T. Cohen (Cinderella’s Curse, Medusa: Queen of the Serpents). VFX artist Giordano Aita is on board to bring the creature to horrifying life.

Produced through Ford’s Latitude Films, Bone Keeper will be hitting the international market with sales handled by REInvent, who are teasing the first footage at Cannes. Ford said about the project:

I’ve always been fascinated by caves — places where ancient things could still lurk. I’m beyond excited to finally dive into a creature feature, and it’s been an absolute blast working with the legendary John Rhys-Davies.

No word yet on a release date, but with this lineup and premise, Bone Keeper is definitely one to watch for horror fans craving new nightmares from the deep. Check out the first images from the film below:
