Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Damian Priest & Jimmy Uso def. Drew McIntyre & Shinsuke Nakamura

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the final moments of an explosive tag team showdown, Jimmy Uso took out Drew McIntyre outside the ring, only to be taken out himself by Shinsuke Nakamura. Priest capitalized on the chaos by hitting Nakamura with South of Heaven for the victory. Moments after the bell, McIntyre attacked Priest from behind and unleashed a vicious attack that ended with the Claymore Kick.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Braun Strowman def. Jacob Fatu (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

During a nasty collision between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu, The Monster of All Monsters was attacked by Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, giving Strowman the disqualification win. As a result, Strowman became the No. 1 Contender to United States Champion LA Knight. When the 3-on-1 beatdown continued after the bell, Knight emerged to help Strowman fight off Fatu, Sikoa and Tonga.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: Piper Niven def. Zelina Vega

Piper Niven overcame Zelina Vega with an earth-shattering Running Crossbody after interference from Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: Liv Morgan def. Jade Cargill

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Raquel Rodriguez kept the official busy when Naomi suddenly emerged to mix it up with Jade Cargill on the apron and paved the way for Liv Morgan to ruin The Storm’s return win with Oblivion. After the match, Naomi unleashed a major attack on Cargill.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #5: The Street Profits def. Los Garza

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

One week after The Street Profits won the WWE Tag Team Title, Angelo Dawkins leaped over the ropes to take out all opposition at ringside before Montez Ford picked up the win with the jaw-dropping From the Heavens.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.25/5

Wow, just when you thought last week’s Smackdown was bad enough, along comes this episode! Yet another European show that had a hot crowd but lukewarm wrestling. It’s almost like the WWE knows they don’t have to try hard, at least in terms of matches, when it comes to international tours as the fans are so hungry for live WWE action that they get whipped up in the excitement and carry some of the most mediocre stuff we’ve seen from the blue brand in ages!
