Match #1: Elimination Chamber Match Qualifier – Naomi def. Chelsea Green
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Naomi made Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green feel the glow with a decisive split-legged moonsault to secure a place inside the Elimination Chamber and an opportunity to headline WrestleMania.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Motor City Machine Guns def. Los Garza
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin overcame Angel and Berto in a hard-fought showdown with Skull and Bones.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: LA Knight def. Miz
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
LA Knight hit a BFT before delivering an elbow drop off the top rope to get the three-count on The Miz. After the match, The Megastar engaged in an intense face-to-face with United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Carmelo Hayes def. R-Truth
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Carmelo Hayes showed that it’s all about Him when he took down R-Truth with Nothing But Net.
My Score: 0 out of 5
Match #5: WWE Women’s Championship – Tiffany Stratton def. Nia Jax (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Before Tiffany Stratton could attempt the Pettiest Moonsault Ever against Nia Jax in a hard-fought WWE Women’s Championship Match, Candice LeRae launched a vicious attack that resulted in a disqualification. Before Jax and LeRae could do serious damage to the titleholder during a brutal post-match attack, however, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus emerged from the front row and engaged them to save Tiffy.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #6: Triple Threat Elimination Chamber Qualifier – Damian Priest def. Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes emerged to neutralize Solo Sikoa, who was interfering in the match. Tama Tonga soon followed, and during the chaos, Sikoa accidently took out Tonga. As Jacob Fatu left the ring to take issue with Solo, the distraction allowed The American Nightmare to hit Cross Rhodes on Sikoa and gave Damian Priest the time he needed to overcome Braun Strowman with South of Heaven and qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match on March 1.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
I’m in shock! We actually got more than four matches on a main WWE show! However, aside from the main event this show was remarkably average. Again. What is it with Smackdown these days? Since Raw moved to Netflix it’s like Smackdown is being made mundane so as not to compete with the “higher profile” show – and that’s despite the appearances of Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, and Charlotte Flair. I have no idea what the WWE are up to… Maybe this show’s in a holding pattern until Wrestlemania? Who knows. But at this rate, you might be better off just watching highlights!
