‘Marvel Champions: The Card Game – The Galaxy’s Most Wanted’ Expansion Review

In Marvel Champions: The Card Game – The Galaxy’s Most Wanted, the two new heroes are the popular duo of Groot and Rocket Racoon – who collectively include the mutually beneficial aspects of Protection and Aggression (I bet you can guess who comes with cards from each.) For some people, this would be enough to invest in this new set alone – after all this is a pair of incredibly fun and fairly powerful characters that synergise really well – but the new campaign mode and the villains it includes also increase the fun considerably.
There are two scenarios that feature the Collector – along with all his bonkers ideas and his collection of artifacts and stolen weapons. Drang (and his Brotherhood of Badoon) is perhaps the least well-known adversary, with Nebula and Ronan the Accuser rounding out a superb collection. Ronan is my personal favourite, and he makes for a fantastic one of battle (to be used with any combination of heroes) as well as a campaign boss. Nebula is also very good in any setting, whilst I found the Collector to much more interesting in the campaign setting only.
Marvel Champions: The Card Game – The Galaxy’s Most Wanted is probably my favourite expansion for Marvel Champions to date. With really fun, big-name heroes and at least two, if not three notable villains, The Galaxy’s Most Wanted deserves consideration from any serious fan. If you’re really into the The Guardians of the Galaxy, you will of course still need to invest in more hero packs -including Star Lord, Drax and Gomorra as a minimum, but this is no different to any of the other series and hardly a reason to knock The Galaxy’s Most Wanted.
