Match #1: Carmelo Hayes def. Andrade

After losing two matches in a row to Andrade in recent weeks, Carmelo Hayes finally picked up a win with a quick pin on his explosive adversary. In the aftermath, Melo’s excessive gloating lit the fuse on a chaotic post-match altercation.

Match #2: Blair Davenport def. Naomi

In a fierce showdown, Blair Davenport connected with an earth-shattering knee to pick up the victory over Naomi.

Match #3: Kevin Owens def. Grayson Waller

Kevin Owens reigned supreme over Grayson Waller with a Stunner/Pop-up Powerbomb combination. Waller and Austin Theory attempted a 2-on-1 chair attack after the bell, but Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes emerged to stop the assault and send A-Town Down Under heading for the hills.

Match #4: The Street Profits def. #DIY

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins overcame #DIY with the Super Blockbuster to become No. 1 Contenders to WWE Tag Team Champions The Bloodline.

Final Verdict: 2.5/5
An OK episode of Smackdown this week, one that sacrificed matches for storytelling and some of that storytelling was pretty poor – especially the opening stuff with Nia Jax et al. Thankfully we got a great match between Carmelo and Andrade to make up for that but, unfortunately, it wasn’t until that main event that this week’s show would pick up once more. Therefore it was all a bit of a downer this week for the blue brand – saved only by the non-match actions of Roman Reigns as this week’s episode ended. As I said in last week’s review, I think Reigns versus the Bloodline might just be the thing that keeps Smackdown going in the next few months!
