by Phil Wheat

To celebrate the release of the film this week, here’s a socially-distanced in-depth roundtable interview with the cast and crew of Tribal: Get Out Alive – which is out now in UK on all major digital platforms by genre specialists Evolutionary Films – exclusively for Nerdly and hosted by Kev at 365FlicksPodcast.

Elite military operative Caitlin Ross retires from service after suffering from PTSD. Along with former team member and close friend Brad Johnson, they opted for the ‘easy life’ and now lead a small security firm. The company are hired by young, troublesome millionaire Richard Kenning to clear and secure the land and property he has recently inherited. Rumors and stories surrounding the land and buildings are dismissed until people start disappearing and the team end up locked in with no escape. It soon becomes apparent they are being hunted and the race is on to get out alive.

Rising action star Zara Phythian showcases her real martial arts credentials in the lead role of Caitlin. Zara started studying Shotokan Karate when she was seven years old and later turned to Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing. More recently she has become a student of Wing Chun under Samuel Kwok and Tai Chi under Steve Rowe. In 2006 she became the first British martial artist to be inducted into the International Karate & Kickboxing Hall of Fame (IKKHoF) and is a former 13 times World Champion. She is the founder of the Personal Best Academy, ZP Online Training Academy, ZP Sports and through demand has teamed up with Fightertrainingonlineacademy.co.uk to provide an online training platform for martial artist, athletes and fitness enthusiasts worldwide.

Zara is joined on screen by co-star Ross O’Hennessy who is best known for his role as ‘The Lord of Bones’ in the award winning series Game of Thrones. Building on the success of its North American release by SP Releasing on 7th July, TRIBAL GET OUT ALIVE has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Action’ at the LA Motion Picture Festival and ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Action Team’, ‘Best Action Coordinator’ and ‘Best Fight Scene’ by the IDTV Action Festival in Texas.
