‘WWE NXT’ Review (Feb 4th 2026)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: NXT Women’s North American Championship – Izzi Dame def. Thea Hail and Lola Vice

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Izzi Dame retained the NXT Women’s North American Championship in impressive fashion as she took down Lola Vice and Thea Hail in a Triple Threat Match. With Shawn Spears and Niko Vance supporting Dame at ringside, the champion impressed by using her combination of size and speed to take down her opponents. As Dame and Hail traded blows inside the ring, Kelani Jordan appeared and attacked Vice on the outside, smashing her wrist with a ladder. With one Superstar now out of contention, Dame countered a Kimura Lock into a huge Gut-wrench Powerbomb to retain her title.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Speed Tournament Match – Elio LeFleur def. Charlie Dempsey

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Elio LeFleur earned his first win in NXT as he defeated the mat technician Charlie Dempsey in a Speed Tournament Match. With less than 15 seconds remaining, LeFleur hit an incredible twisting reverse Famouser to punch his ticket to the Men’s Speed Tournament Final.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #3: TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship – The Elegance Brand def. ZaRuca

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title remains with The Elegance Brand as ZaRuca continued to struggle to get on the same page. Zaria was defiant in not wanting to tag in her partner, but Ruca finally got in the match and shined, nearly winning the championship on her own. All four Superstars found their way into the ring, but Ruca accidentally hit Zaria with a Sol Snatcher, allowing The Elegance Brand to steal the win.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #4: Lexis King & Stacks def. Chase U

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Lexis King and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo earned another impressive win against Chase U. When Uriah Connors was neutralized and left on the outside, Kale Dixon felt the wrath of a Coronation DDT from King. After the bout, Connors seemed to abandon Chase U when he followed King and Stacks to the backstage area.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #5: NXT Championship Ladder Match – Winner: Joe Hendry

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Joe Hendry captured the vacant NXT Championship in an epic Ladder Match. The match quickly devolved into absolute chaos with dozens of ladders being used as weapons, tools and even stilts in the case of Shiloh Hill. Six of the Superstars decided to team up and bury the dangerous Keanu Carver under a score of ladders, but he soon burst free and continued to wreak havoc. Ricky Saints and Carver found themselves perched on the top of a ladder with Carver getting shoved off and crashing through a ladder below. Saints looked poised to win, but Hendry met him at the summit and ripped down the title to become the new NXT Champion.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This week’s NXT was a mixed but mostly enjoyable ride, anchored by a genuinely strong main event. The Women’s North American Title opener set a solid tone, continuing Izzi Dame’s impressive run and keeping multiple story threads moving forward. The Speed Tournament match did exactly what it needed to do in limited time, while the TNA Knockouts Tag bout was serviceable without ever quite clicking. Lexis King & Stacks vs. Chase U felt like the low point of the night, more angle-driven than match-driven. Thankfully, the chaotic NXT Championship Ladder Match delivered in spades, with Joe Hendry’s title win feeling both earned and crowd-pleasing. Not a must-see episode top to bottom, but the highs outweighed the lows.
