‘WWE NXT’ Review (Dec 9th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Kelani Jordan def. Jordynne Grace

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Kelani Jordan scored a massive victory over Jordynne Grace in singles action. Jordan targeted Grace’s leg early and often, but The Juggernaut powered through it and still managed to toss her opponent around the ring with suplexes. Grace grabbed a steel chair and was intent on using itm but Jordan managed to kick The Juggernaut off of the steel steps and through the barricade below. Jordan then tossed her back into the ring and hit an incredible 450 Splash to pick up the win.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Shiloh Hill def. Lexis King

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Shiloh Hill impressed in his NXT debut by crushing Lexis King. King did his best, but Hill was relentless before hitting his signature Whisper to the Beast to win the match.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: Sol Ruca def. Wren Sinclair

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Sol Ruca and Wren Sinclair battled it out in the middle of the ring with the former NXT Women’s North American Champion walking out with the win. Sinclair used her mat skills to keep Ruca pinned to the mat, but the former champion rallied thanks to her swift striking and athletic mindset. Sinclair’s lone mistake came when she found herself in the drop zone for a picture-perfect Sol Snatcher.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #4: NXT Championship – Oba Femi def. Je’Von Evans

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Oba Femi remains on top of NXT as he conquered Je’Von Evans to remain NXT Champion. The Young OG came out firing, downing Femi with a series of jumping knee strikes as well as a twisting kick. Evans nearly had the match won after sending Femi onto the announce table and hitting a pair of splashes, but The Ruler somehow kicked out. The challenger overcame the brutal strikes of the champion to hit a pair of Cutters, but former NXT Champion Ricky Saints appeared and dragged the official out of the ring. Evans took Saints out, but walked into a massive match-ending Fall From Grace by The Ruler.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This week’s NXT was a solid outing with flashes of something bigger, anchored by a strong Oba Femi vs Je’Von Evans main event. The match delivered until the interference-heavy finish undercut what could’ve been a clean, statement victory. It built storyline momentum, sure, but at the cost of impact. The rest of the show mixed promising beats with filler. Kelani Jordan impressed, the women’s division got meaningful time (even if one segment dragged), and newer talent continued to get exposure. Not everything landed, but the pacing stayed lively. Overall, it was good, not essential – an episode that kept NXT’s momentum going without breaking new ground.
