‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Oct 10th 2025)
Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s Crown Jewel go-home show!

Match #1: United States Championship – Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (N Contest)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The epic United States Championship Match between Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura was interrupted by Solo Sikoa and his MFTs. The hard-hitting Nakamura turned back the clock after using his iconic entrance, but his first attempt at a Kinshasa was countered into a Michinoku Driver. After an incredible flurry, Nakamura hit a scorpion kick, but his Kinshasa attempt was foiled by a returning Tama Tonga, allowing Solo Sikoa and the rest of The MFTs hit the scene to destroy the champion and challenger.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #2: Tiffany Stratton & Stephanie Vaquer def. Giulia & Kiana James
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer put aside their differences to take down Women’s United States Champion Giulia and her business associate Kiana James. The Beautiful Madness brought the fight to La Primera as she and James brutalized the Women’s World Champion, but Stratton tagged in and shifted the momentum back to her team. Vaquer went to the sky to take out Giulia, leaving Stratton to hit a Prettiest Moonsault Ever on James to win the match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #3: WWE Tag Team Championship – The Wyatt Sicks def. The Street Profits
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were determined to win back the WWE Tag Team Title, but they once again fell short to The Wyatt Sicks. The Street Profits went all out in their quest for gold, even executing a huge double blockbuster as Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis were perched on Dawkins’ shoulders. Dawkins continued the aerial assault with a huge dive over the top rope onto Erick Rowan, but Ford’s Frog Splash was countered, which allowed The Wyatt Sicks to hit the Plague to win the bout and retain their title. After the match, the group was confronted by Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga and JC Mateo.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Last Man Standing Match – Aleister Black def. Damian Priest
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Aleister Black and Damian Priest battled in a brutal Last Man Standing Match that featured an unexpected appearance from Zelina Vega. Priest introduced Kendo sticks and even the steel steps, cracking them on Black’s body as the two waged war across the arena and in the crowd. Both Superstars refused to relent, with both beating the official’s count of 10 each time, much to the delight of the raucous WWE Universe in Perth. As the two found themselves perched precariously atop production equipment, Vega appeared and seemingly begged Priest to stop. With Priest distracted, Black lit a fireball and tossed it at his opponent before hitting a Black Mass that sent him crashing through the tables below. Priest was unable to beat the 10-count as Black watched with Vega in his arms.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
A solid go-home show overall, highlighted by the chaotic main event between Black and Priest, which was exactly the kind of wild brawl it needed to be. It’s nice to see Black gaining some momentum again AND teaming with Zelian is a great shout be the WWE. Cody’s opening promo, though, dragged and felt more like a casual live crowd exchange than TV material. The women’s tag did little beyond setting the stage for Vaquer vs. Tiffany at Crown Jewel and was a waste of a rare Guila appearance (what is going on with her these days?) Sami and Nakamura delivered in-ring, even if the finish underwhelmed thanks to outside interference. As for the men’s tag match, maybe it is time the Street Profits were no more – they certianly never feel like they can be tag champs, even if they have been in the past. To be fair, they always feel like a low-budget New Day to me these days!
