‘WWE NXT’ Review (Sep 30th 2025)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Jaida Parker def. Lash Legend
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Jaida Parker scored a statement win against Lash Legend ahead of next week’s Showdown. Ms. Parker found herself in uncharted waters as she was overpowered and tossed around the ring with Legend dominating the early goings. The Boujee Bully smashed Parker into the steel steps and into the barricade, but Parker found an opening and hit a match-ending Hipnotic.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Myles Borne def. Josh Briggs
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Myles Borne secured a spot on Team NXT by defeating Josh Briggs in a hard-fought matchup. Borne was willing to risk it all to defeat Briggs, going as far as to leap over the top rope and jump off the top turnbuckle on multiple occasions, despite being countered by the powerful Briggs on one of them. With the official distracted, Briggs attempted to use a steel chain, but was thwarted by TNA’s Matt Cardona and a Borne Again from Borne ended the bout for good.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #3: Lola Vice def. Fallon Henley
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Lola Vice rounds out the field for Team NXT on the women’s side after a convincing win against Fallon Henley. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne wanted Henley on the team, but Vice was determined to prove her worth. Henley had the momentum at one point, but one Spinning Backfist from Vice knocked her out clean.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater def. The Culling
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Future opponents at TNA Victory Road Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Divisions Champion Leon Slater teamed up for a big win over The Culling. Despite NXT and TNA’s differences, Evans and Slater worked seamlessly together during their tag team match against Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Slater and Evans took turns one-upping each other with Evans flying over the top rope again, but Slater his signature Swanton 450 to win the match in stunning fashion.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3/5
This week’s NXT was all about fallout and forward momentum. The episode featured several key matches that carried real stakes, with Jaida Parker picking up a big win over Lash Legend and Myles Borne defeating Josh Briggs to secure the final spot on Team NXT for the upcoming showdown. Lola Vice also earned her place on the women’s squad with a strong victory over Fallon Henley, while Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater teamed up to topple The Culling in a fast-paced tag match. Outside the ring, the spotlight was on team announcements, as Ricky Saints and Jacy Jayne were named captains for Team NXT, with Mike Santana and Kelani Jordan leading the charge for Team TNA. The promo segments pushed the rivalry further, adding tension and uncertainty around shifting alliances. What worked best was the clear sense of direction; every segment felt tied to the looming NXT vs. TNA clash. The qualifiers added suspense, and the leadership announcements gave the show real narrative weight. However, no single match reached a classic level, though the main event did a LOT of the work here, and the episode leaned more on setup than on delivering standout in-ring action.
