‘WWE NXT’ Review (Sep 2nd 2025)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Lash Legend def. Jaida Parker
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Lash Legend took on Jaida Parker in a hard-hitting contest that left both competitors feeling the effects. Parker almost took Legend out with the corner hip attack but Legend connected with a huge boot to Parker on the outside. Legend then clobbered Parker with a Lash Extension onto the announce table before nailing another one in the middle of the ring to win the match. After the match, Parker blasted Legend with a huge Hypnotic through the barricade.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Women’s Speed Tournament – Candice LeRae def. Xia Brookside
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Candice LeRae returned to NXT to battle TNA’s Xia Brookside in the first match of the Women’s Speed Tournament. The Poison Pixie put Brookside away with the springboard moonsault to move on in the tournament.
My Score: 1 out of 5
Match #3: Jordynne Grace def. Kali Armstrong
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Evolve Women’s Champion Kali Armstrong took on Jordynne Grace in a non-title match after a backstage altercation earlier in the evening. Despite a spirited outing from Armstrong, Grace put away the Evolve Women’s Champion with Beast Mode. Following the match, Blake Monroe attacked Grace but got more than she bargained for as Grace left Monroe with some battle scars.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Josh Briggs def. Andre Chase
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Andre Chase collided with Josh Briggs after his Chase University students set him up for the match backstage. Chase brought everything he had to Briggs but after a chokeslam and a big boot, Briggs was able to put away the leader of Chase University. Briggs wasn’t finished with Chase U after the match, leaving Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon down and out.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger def. DarkState
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
NXT Champion Oba Femi, No. 1 Contender Ricky Saints, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger teamed up to take on the ever menacing DarkState. Saints, Femi, Hank and Tank hit an impressive meeting in the middle on Cutler James, leaving DarkState to regroup on the outside. Despite their earlier camaraderie, Femi and Saints eventually came to blows, fighting each other to the back, leaving Hank and Tank to fend for themselves. With Hank and Tank looking worse for wear, Hank invoked Joe Hendry’s name. Hendry arrived, allowing Hank and Tank to get the win over DarkState.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
This week’s show promised big moments but ultimately underdelivered. Joe Hendry’s surprise brought some quick laughs, but both came at the cost of undercutting DarkState’s credibility. The Women’s Speed Tournament added variety but fell totally flat, and DIY’s return gave fans a nostalgic pop, yet these bright spots couldn’t mask the show’s uneven flow. Matches were completely lacking in stakes, and the pacing dragged in places. While there were flashes of creativity, the overall presentation was inconsistent, leaving this week’s NXT feeling more frustrating than satisfying.
