by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of TNA Wrestling, Let’s get straight into the review and see what went down on this week’s show…

Match #1: Elijah def. Brian Myers

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

Elijah makes his TNA singles debut against Brian Myers of The System! Both men are looking to build momentum heading into the big 10-Man Tag Team match at Sacrifice. Alisha Edwards gets involved at ringside, allowing Myers to gain control. Elijah bounces back with Drift Away for two. Myers scores a near fall of his own following an implant DDT. Now it’s Eddie Edwards who gets involved, but Elijah sends Myers crashing into his own partner. Elijah spikes Myers with the Highwayman’s Farewell to win.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #2: Savannah Evans def. Xia Brookside

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

It’s Knockouts warfare as Savannah Evans battles Xia Brookside! Rosemary is seen watching on from high above the iMPACT! Zone. Evans puts her strength on display as she ragdolls Brookside with a bear hug. Brookside soars with a top rope crossbody. Brookside hesitates, allowing Evans to hit her from behind with a clubbing blow to win.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #3: Mike Santana def. John Skyler

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

John Skyler looks to soften up Mike Santana ahead of his match against Mustafa Ali at Sacrifice! Santana goes after Jason Hotch on the outside, allowing Skyler to gain the early advantage. Santana quickly turns the tide, putting Skyler away with a running powerbomb for three.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: A.J. Francis def. Steve Maclin

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

Following their confrontation on the FIR$T CLA$$ Penthouse earlier tonight, A.J. Francis battles Steve Maclin! Francis is Caught in the Crosshairs but Francis counters the follow-up KIA. Francis spears him with the TFL for two. Judas Icarus and Travis Williams of The Northern Armory offer a distraction to help Maclin. Eric Young claims that he’s watching his back but Maclin doesn’t want his help. Back in the ring, Francis capitalizes with the Down Payment to win.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #5: The Northern Armory (Eric Young, Judas Icarus & Travis Williams) def. Ace Austin & The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

Ace Austin and The Rascalz face off with The Northern Armory in six-man tag team action! The Rascalz deliver a double superkick to Williams on the outside. Young gets involved illegally, clotheslining Wentz on the apron to gain control. Wentz creates separation but The Northern Armory take away his tag options. Turnabout is fair play as Wentz does the same to Young minutes later. The pace quickens as Miguel goes on the attack. The Rascalz deliver double team offense to Young but Williams breaks the pin. Young drops Austin with a Death Valley Driver. NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe appear at ringside. Wentz soars, taking out Tyson and Tyriek with a top rope crossbody. Icarus wipes out Miguel as Young capitalizes off the chaos with a Piledriver for three.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #6: The Hardys (Matt & Jeff) def. The Colóns (Eddie & Orlando)

The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:

It’s main event time as the TNA World Tag Team Champions, The Hardys, face off with the The Colóns in an epic tag team showdown! Matt charges into the corner but Orlando pulls Eddie to safety. The NXT Tag Team Champions, Fraxiom, are scouting The Hardys from backstage. Meanwhile, Matt creates separation, allowing him to tag in Jeff. The pace quickens as Jeff goes on the attack. Matt hits a Side Effect, followed by The Plot Twist. The Hardys are in control when The System attack, causing the disqualification.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3/5

Whilst overall this was an OK week for TNA, the in ring action felt a little lacking. In fact, the whole show did. This felt like a low-effort “filler” show IMHO. Still, we got good matches and good wrestling, so I can’t complain too much.
