‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Nov 29th 2024)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show…

Match #1: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Andrade

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After exposing the turnbuckle, Shinsuke Nakamura ducked out of the way to send Andrade crashing into it. This put Andrade out of commission and allowed Nakamura to finish him off with the Kinshasa to secure the victory in his first match since April.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Cody Rhodes def. Carmelo Hayes

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Cody Rhodes blasted Carmelo Hayes with the Cross Rhodes for a hard-fought victory, giving The American Nightmare an edge as he barrels toward his Undisputed WWE Championship Match against Kevin Owens.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: Triple Threat Match – Michin def. Lash Legend and Piper Niven

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

During the high-stakes Triple Threat Match, B-Fab suddenly rushed to ringside to neutralize an interfering Chelsea Green. The two Superstars brawled all the way backstage to level the playing field between Piper Niven, Michin and Lash Legend. Although Legend showed incredible strength by lifting Niven to execute the Lash Extension in the final moments, Michin flew in from the top rope at the last second to hit the senton on Lash, stopping her pin attempt and picking up the three-count on Niven. The victory advanced Michin into the next round of the Women’s United States Championship Tournament where she will face the winner of a Triple Threat Match between Tiffany Stratton, Naomi and Elektra Lopez.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: Jacob Fatu def. Jey Uso

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After hitting Jey Uso with a devastating Samoan drop onto the announce desk, Jacob Fatu followed up with a Implant DDT/Springboard Moonsault combination to secure the WarGames Advantage for Solo Sikoa’s team at Survivor Series.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

This is another, yes another, mundane episode of Smackdown (though its better than last week’s episode), which is surprising given that this is a lead-in to this weekend’s Survivor Series: WarGames PLE. Though apparently this was a pre-taped show, which is probably why there’s no urgency to any of the matches or the show as a whole. Hopefully it’s not a sign of what we can expect from Survivor Series…
