‘WWE NXT’ Review (Oct 15th 2024)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…

Match #1: Stephanie Vaquer def. Wren Sinclair
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The hype is real as NXT’s newest sensation Stephanie Vaquer shined in her debut against Wren Sinclair. The No Quarter Catch Crew Superstar did her best to keep up, but the vicious offense from The Dark Angel was as brutal as it was impressive, allowing Vaquer to win comfortably. After the match, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade launched on sneak attack on Vaquer, prompting Giulia to save her.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #2: Gentleman’s Duel – Lexis King def. Oro Mensah
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Lexis King proved he could win fair and square by defeating Oro Mensah in a Gentleman’s Duel. Both Superstars were exhausted in the ring after a tense back and forth, and it was King that proved to be the better technician after a perfect bridge pin to keep Mensah down. The two Superstars seemed to settle their longstanding beef with a handshake after the match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #3: Nikkita Lyons def. Lola Vice
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Nikkita Lyons roared back to NXT with a big win over Lola Vice thanks to an assist from Jaida Parker. Vice and Lyons used their striking to try and gain an advantage, but it wasn’t until Jaida Parker entered the fray that the match shifted. Parker attempted to grab a hold of Vice and when the referee had his back turned, she hit a brutal Hipnotic, allowing Lyons to hit a Vader Bomb to score the win.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Ridge Holland def. Riley Osborne
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The rampaging Ridge Holland picked up another victory over a Chase U member, but a ghost from his past has come back to haunt him. Holland decimated Riley Osborne despite a valiant effort from the young Chase U Superstar, hitting a Redeemer to mercifully end the match. However, Andre Chase returned to save his pupil from a post match beatdown and send Holland running to the back.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Match – Ethan Page def. Wes Lee and Je’von Evans
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Former NXT Champion Ethan Page is officially heading to Halloween Havoc after overcoming Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans in a Triple Threat Match. All three Superstars gave it their all, with Evans risking everything by attempting a huge splash onto the announce table from inside the ring. With Lee down and out, Evans nailed a corkscrew splash, but the savvy Page rolled him up and used leverage to win the match and secure his spot as the No. 1 Contender.
My Score: 4 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3/5
The CW era of NXT continues with another good show. Good but not great. It’s taken a couple of weeks on NXT’s new home for the show to lose that “special” feeling, with a lot of this week’s matches feeling like folks going through the motions rather than trying to put on a great show. Thank god then for the opening match – the in-ring debut of Stephanie Vaquer; and the fantastic closing triple-threat match! The rest of the show was, unfortunately, forgettable.
