COUNTDOWN TO REBELLION
Match #1: ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) & Leon Slater def. The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed)

Reed grabs Austin by the ear, then delivers a leg drop to the back of his neck. Austin creates separation and makes the tag to Slater. The Rascalz hit Slater with a barrage of offense, culminating with a Shooting Star. Austin takes out Wentz with a springboard kick. Bey kicks Reed into a Brainbuster from Austin. Reed soars over the ring post, crashing into ABC. Anything you can do, I can do better mentality comes into play as Slater takes to the sky. Miguel hits Slater with a Meteora, followed by a Swanton from Wentz, then a 450 Splash from Reed. They have the match won by Austin breaks the pin. Bey catches Reed with a mid-air cutter. Slater hits the Swanton 450 to put Reed away.

Match #2: Digital Media Championship – Laredo Kid def. Crazzy Steve

Steve tries to get underneath the mask of Laredo, allowing him to capitalize with a running cannonball in the corner. Steve locks in Upside Down on the ropes, breaking before the referee’s count of 5. Laredo soars with a step-up Moonsault to the floor. Steve goes for another cannonball but Laredo dodges, causing him to collide with the turnbuckle. Steve picks him off the top rope with a huge Superplex and both men are down. Laredo gives Steve a taste of his own medicine as he bites him, then connects with the Laredo Fly for three. Laredo is the new Digital Media Champion!

Match #3: Knockouts World Tag Team Championship – Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) def. Decay (Rosemary & Havok)

Punk Icon Lars Frederiksen accompanies Spitfire to the ring. Rosemary bites Luna in the corner, then locks in Upside Down. Luna takes down Rosemary with a running clothesline, followed by a low crossbody from Rosemary. Luna squares off with Havok who delivers a thudding headbutt. Havok hits Luna with a Samoan Drop for two. Decay cut off the ring and begin to wear Luna down. Moments later, Luna creates some much-needed separation with a running dropkick. Luna makes the tag to Threat as the pace quickens. Threat gets two for one as she crashes into both members of Decay. Threat hits Rosemary with a German suplex. Threat dives through the ropes but Havok is still standing. Havok and Rosemary inadvertently strike each other. Threat soars off the top, taking them out on the floor. Luna assists Threat in powerbombing Havok off the top rope. Spitfire puts Rosemary away with innovative double team offense to win the match and retain the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles!

REBELLION
Match #1: X-Division Championship – Mustafa Ali def. Jake Something

Something puts his strength on display in the early going as he hurls Ali across the ring. Ali runs into a brick wall. Ali hits multiple running dropkicks but Something turns him inside out with a clothesline. Something dives under the bottom rope but Ali catches him with a DDT on the floor. Ali is in total control following his signature rolling neckbreaker. Ali hits another neckbreaker, this time on the exposed ramp. Back in the ring, Ali spikes him with a DDT. Something bounces back with a thunderous powerbomb, followed by a backbreaker. Ali connects with a German suplex on the hardest part of the ring. The referee is distracted. Ali’s security team holds Something down while he Ali hits him with the 450 Splash. Something hits Into the Void but it’s not enough. Ali traps him in a pinning predicament with a hold of the bottom rope to steal the victory.

Match #2: Rich Swann def. Joe Hendry

Hendry gains the early advantage with the Trust Fall. The fight spills to the outside where Swann drives the eye of Hendry into the steel steps. Swann distracts the referee, allowing Francis to deliver a cheap shot to Hendry. Back in the ring, Swann hits him with a series of spin kicks. Francis gets taken down at ringside as Hendry sends Swann face-first into the mat. Francis pulls down the top rope, causing Hendry to spill to the floor. Shawne Merriman stops Francis from using a weapon. Merriman and Francis go face to face in the ring. In a shocking turn of events, Merriman clobbers Hendry while Francis has the referee distracted. Swann hits a big top rope splash to win.

Match #3: Full Metal Mayhem – Frankie Kazarian def. Eric Young

Kazarian tries to blindside Young while he’s making his entrance but Young sees it coming and cracks him in the head with his mask. Kazarian hits a leg drop on the ropes, followed by his signature slingshot DDT. Kazarian hits a back suplex on the ladder. Kazarian goes for a springboard leg drop but crashes and burns on the ladder. Young introduces Janice into the match. Kazarian spears Young off the apron through a table below. Kazarian and Young exchange fists in the middle of the ring, followed by sheets of metal. Young connects with a Death Valley Driver for two. Young wraps a steel chain around the throat of Kazarian and drags him off the top rope. Young places Kazarian inside a trash can, then soars off the top rope with an elbow drop. Kazarian puts him through a table with the Flux Capacitor to win.

Match #4: Mike Santana def. Steve Maclin

Santana dives over the top rope, wiping out Maclin on the floor. The fight spills to the outside where Maclin sends him face-first into the steel ring post. Back in the ring, Santana avoids Caught in the Crosshairs. Santana hits a rolling Buck 50 to create an opening. Santana continues to build momentum with an Enzuigiri, then spikes Maclin with a Death Valley Driver. Maclin counters the STB clothesline with a running knee. Maclin almost puts him away with the Jarhead-butt for two. Santana hits a running cannonball for a near fall of his own. Santana is Caught in the Crosshairs but it’s still not enough to keep him down. Santana successfully hits the STB clothesline to score the big victory!

Match #5: TNA World Tag Team Championship – The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) def. Speedball Mountain (Mike Bailey & Trent Seven)

The bell rings and Eddie immediately knocks Seven off the apron. Moments later, Seven fakes a chop, then spikes Eddie with a DDT. Alisha distracts the referee, allowing Myers to superkick Seven from the apron. Eddie begins to target the left knee of Seven by sending it into the steel ring steps. Seven creates some much-needed separation with a closed right hand. Seven tags in Bailey, who quickens the pace with a flurry of offense. Bailey hits a running kick on Eddie, followed by a standing Shooting Star on Myers. Seven hits Myers with a thunderous Superplex as Bailey soars with a top rope Shooting Star for two. Eddie drags Bailey out of the ring, allowing Myers to re-target the knee of Seven. Bailey breaks Eddie’s submission attempt with a series of kicks. Bailey kicks Eddie into a Dragon Suplex from Seven for a very close near fall. Eddie pushes Seven into his own partner. Eddie hits the Backpack Stunner on Seven, followed by the top rope elbow from Myers for yet another near fall. Seven hits the Birminghammer on Eddie. Bailey follows up with Ultima Weapon but Myers breaks the pin in time. Bailey leaps off the apron but Myers spears him in mid-air. Eddie and Myers put Seven away with a Roster Cut, Boston Knee Party combo.

Match #6: Last Man Standing – Josh Alexander def. Hammerstone

Alexander rushes Hammerstone and the fight is on. It’s a stalemate in the early going as both men match each other’s pace and offense. Alexander drops him back-first on the hardest part of the ring. Turnabout is fair play as Hammerstone hurls him off the top rope to the apron. They fight at ringside as Hammerstone dumps him on the steel guardrail. Hammerstone hits a delayed vertical suplex on the floor. Moments later, Alexander traps the arm of Hammerstone and delivers a Half & Half suplex. Alexander locks in a Figure Four submission with Hammerstone’s legs wrapped around the ring post. Hammerstone shuts down Alexander’s momentum by using his signature headgear as a weapon. Alexander is busted open but gets back up at the count of 9. Hammerstone kicks Alexander’s head into the steel ring post but once again, Alexander recovers at the count of 8. Hammerstone locks in the Torture Rack. Alexander eerily begins to laugh, then explodes into an Ankle Lock. Alexander empties a bag of thumbtacks on the mat but it comes back to haunt him as Hammerstone hits a top rope Nightmare Pendulum into the tacks. Shockingly, Alexander gets back to his feet at 9. Alexander hits the C4 Spike on the ramp. Hammerstone is down for the referee’s count of 10, awarding the victory to Alexander.

Match #7: Knockouts World Championship – Jordynne Grace def. Steph De Lander

Grace attempts an early Juggernaut Driver but De Lander fights her off. Grace dives through the ropes, sending De Lander crashing through the barricade. De Lander turns the tide with a TKO into the top rope. De Lander hits Snake Eyes, followed by a running big boot. De Lander hits a clubbing blow to the back of Grace. De Lander hits a suplex out of the corner for two. Grace tries to drive her head-first into the apron but De Lander counters into a back body drop. As De Lander tries to fight off a Sleeper hold, she inadvertently allows Grace to lock it in deeper. John Skyler distracts the referee. Grace accidently takes out the referee with a spinning back fist. De Lander hits Grace with the Knockouts World Title but the referee is still knocked out. Hotch puts on the referee’s shirt to make the count but the lights go out. When they come back on, PCO is in the ring. PCO takes out The Good Hands with a double Chokeslam. De Lander tries to seduce PCO but to no avail. PCO is about to Chokeslam De Lander when he’s blindsided by Kon. Kon shoves Grace down to the mat but Grace goes low in retaliation. Kon is about to snap Grace’s neck when the lights go out once again. This time, the returning Sami Callihan is in the ring as he wipes out Kon and The Good Hands with his baseball bat. Grace hits De Lander with the Juggernaut Driver to retain the Knockouts World Title!

Match #8: TNA World Championship – Moose def. Nic Nemeth

Nemeth takes Moose off his feet and pummels him with strikes. Nemeth pulls down the top rope, sending Moose toppling to the floor. Nemeth leaps off the apron but Moose catches and drops him face-first on the apron. Moose counters a Famouser on the ramp. Nemeth soars with a Missile Dropkick. Nemeth spikes Moose with a big DDT for two. Nemeth sets up for a superkick but Alisha hooks his leg from the outside. As a result, the referee ejects The System from ringside. Nemeth capitalizes off the distraction with a superkick for two. Moose fends off the Danger Zone but Nemeth instead locks in a Sleeper. Minutes later, Moose whips him into the steel ring steps. Nemeth jumps off the ramp to catch Moose with a Famouser on the floor. Nemeth hits 9 elbow drops, followed by a 10th off the apron to the outside. Moose hits Go To Hell out of the corner but Nemeth kicks out at two. Moose connects with a thudding powerbomb on the ramp. Nemeth hits another Famouser for two. Nemeth gives Moose a spear of his own but it’s not enough. Moose hits his signature spear to win the match and retain the TNA World Title.

News of the Night:
- Mike Santana re-signed with TNA and debuted on Rebellion
- Sami Callihan made his return to TNA
- Matt Hardy has (possibly) re-signed with TNA, making an appearance at the end of the PPV.
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
Rebellion opened on a promising note, with the Countdown pre-show delivering some great matches but by the time the main event rolled around this pay-per-view felt like it had lost its way. Who would’ve expected Nemeth and Moose to deliver a poor main event? The Women’s title match was almost, almost, as bad thanks to the ridiculous interference but it didn’t really lose its way as much, so scored higher. The big news of this show was the THREE returning stars – Sami Callihan, Mike Santana and Matt Hardy. Now don’t get me wrong, it was great to see them make their re-debuts in the company but Matt Hardy? Really? I hope to god he doesn’t become the focus of TNA like he once was in the Impact days… No-one wants the Broken Universe to take over again. NO ONE.
