‘AEW Collision: Slam Dunk Saturday’ Review (Mar 21st 2026)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of AEW Collision: Slam Dunk Saturday, the first of a two-night special airing of Collision. We’ve got the commentary team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness calling the action. Also, as usual, we’ll be abbreviating AEW’s huge match recaps where we can to save your eyes and your time! With that, let’s get into the review…

Match #1: TNT Championship – Kyle Fletcher def. Robbie Eagles

The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Fletcher toyed with Eagles early, showing little respect for the man who helped train him. When Eagles outwrestled him, Fletcher used his power advantage, slamming him to the mat. Eagles fired back with a flying head-scissors and spinning heel kick, then targeted Fletcher’s left leg with repeated strikes. Fletcher cut him off with a backbreaker and full nelson slam to regain control. Eagles kept coming, dropping Fletcher with a leg dropkick, shining wizard and sliced bread for a near-fall. Fletcher answered with a Michinoku Driver, but Eagles kicked out and locked in a reverse figure-four that nearly forced a tap. The fight spilled outside before Eagles hit a dive through the ropes and a 450 splash to the injured leg for another close two-count. Eagles followed with a poisonrana and more kicks, but Fletcher shut him down with a lariat, lawn dart and corner rocket kick, before finishing with a sheer-drop brainbuster to retain the TNT Title.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Match #2: LFI (RUSH, Dralístico & The Beast Mortos) def. Alpha Zo, Dom Kubrick and Lucas Riley

The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Dralístico caught a kick from Riley and put him on the mat with a flying attack. He tagged Mortos, who chopped Riley and tagged RUSH. Mortos whipped Riley back into the corner so Dralístico and RUSH could keep the offense going, and then all three hit dropkicks to the sitting Riley! LFI posed, and RUSH pulled Kubrick over the top only to forearm him right out of the ring. Zo got a headbutt from RUSH to send him to the floor. Dralístico connected on a dive to Zo and Kubrick. Back in the ring, RUSH gave Riley the Bull’s Horns, and Mortos followed with a tornillo splash from the top! RUSH covered for the 1-2-3 and dominant win for LFI!

My Score: SQUASH out of 5

Match #3: Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor) def. Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue)

The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Hayter and Hart started the match, with Hayter’s power giving her the early edge as she dropped Hart with a backbreaker. Windsor tagged in and joined the attack, knocking Blue off the apron before she and Hayter hit an assisted Russian leg sweep and a sitting lariat for a two-count. Blue tried to rally but was quickly overwhelmed, with both Sisters of Sin stacked in the corner for a series of chops. Blue eventually turned the tide by raking Windsor’s eyes, allowing Hart to get involved from the apron and help isolate Windsor while Blue knocked Hayter to the floor. Hayter fought back in, surviving a flurry from Sisters of Sin, and planted Blue with a backbreaker across her knee. Windsor returned but was cut off by Hart, leading to a front suplex and stereo kicks from Blue and Hart for another near-fall. The action broke down, with Hart hitting a cannonball to Hayter on the floor while Blue scored a running knee on Windsor for two. Windsor recovered with a Blue Thunder Bomb, Hayter followed with a lariat, and the Birds finished Hart with Two Birds, One Stone to stay undefeated.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #4: Death Riders (Daniel Garcia & Claudio Castagnoli) def. Komander and Máscara Dorada

The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Castagnoli entered the match without the CMLL World Heavyweight Title after losing it to Hechicero the night before, but that didn’t slow the Death Riders down. Garcia and Komander started, with Garcia grounding the high-flyer and even going after his mask again before Komander escaped and tagged Dorada. Dorada’s speed gave Castagnoli problems at first, but Claudio answered with uppercuts and raw power, turning the tide as Garcia joined in to isolate Komander. The Death Riders kept control for several minutes, cutting the ring in half and battering Komander with strikes, uppercuts and double-team offence. Komander finally broke free with a facebuster on Castagnoli and tagged Dorada, who exploded in with armdrags, head-scissors and a spectacular double moonsault to the floor with Komander. Back inside, Dorada nearly finished Garcia with a Liger Bomb, and the luchadors followed with fast double-team offence, but Castagnoli kept breaking things up. Komander went for another aerial attack, only for Castagnoli to catch him, hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, swing him around and finish with the Neutralizer for the win.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Night one of AEW’s Slam Dunk weekend delivered a solid, easy-to-watch episode that never quite hit must-see territory but stayed consistently entertaining throughout. The TNT Title opener between Kyle Fletcher and Robbie Eagles was the clear standout, mixing strong storytelling with hard-hitting action and giving the show an immediate boost. The main event tag with the Death Riders and the luchadors kept the pace high and closed the show on another strong note, while the women’s tag match sat comfortably in the middle with some good moments but nothing truly memorable. The only real weak point was the predictable LFI squash, which felt more like padding than anything essential. Overall, this was a dependable Slam Dunk Saturday special – not a blow-the-audience-away show, but one with enough quality wrestling to make it well worth the watch.
