Hope Has a New Hero: The First ‘Supergirl’ Trailer Is Finally Here!

by Phil Wheat

DC Studios is ready to unleash its next cinematic powerhouse as Supergirl rockets into theatres worldwide this summer, with Milly Alcock stepping into the iconic cape as Kara Zor-El. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, this latest chapter in DC’s evolving cinematic universe promises a bold, emotional, and cosmic-scale take on one of its most powerful heroes.

When a brutal and deeply personal threat shatters Kara’s world, the Last Daughter of Krypton is forced out of the shadows and into the stars. What follows is an explosive, interstellar journey that blends raw vengeance with hard-earned justice — and sees Supergirl reluctantly teaming up with an unlikely ally as she confronts enemies who push her to the very edge of who she is and what she stands for.

Alcock is joined by an impressive, heavyweight cast, including Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa, bringing serious star power and dramatic muscle to this cosmic DC adventure.

Produced by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn, Supergirl is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and represents a key cornerstone in DC’s bold new era. Executive producers include Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther, with an all-star creative team behind the camera: Rob Hardy (cinematography), Neil Lamont (production design), Tatiana S. Riegel (editing), Anna B. Sheppard (costume design), Geoffrey Baumann (visual effects), and Ramin Djawadi delivering the film’s epic score.

Supergirl flies into UK cinemas on 26 June 2026, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Check out the film’s first teaser trailer below:
