VCI Entertainment have long been known for releasing classic films, but in recent years, they’ve also dipped into the world of erotic and “sleaze” cinema on Blu-ray. Earlier this year we reviewed Psychotronica Collection #2: Mondo Keyhole, and now the label is circling back to where it all began.
Their latest sleaze-centric release is a newly restored 4K Blu-ray of Delinquent Schoolgirls, presented as The Psychotronica Collection Vol.1. If you’re a fan of vintage erotica or cult oddities, this is definitely one you’ll want to consider adding to your collection.
Our protagonists in this K-Mart budgeted cinematic carrion are escapees from an insane asylum! One is an ex-baseball player turned rapist, another is gay, and the ringleader is a low-rent impressionist. When they stumble upon an all-girls school, antisocial behavior with these siliconed “students” ensues, but with a twist – the busty babes know karate!
Delinquent Schoolgirls isn’t your standard erotica-for-erotica’s sake release. There’s actually an attempt at a story beneath the sleaze, which gives it a little more texture than you might expect. That said, let’s be honest: this is firmly a niche title. Mainstream viewers will likely find plenty to be offended by, but fans of vintage ’70s erotica will get exactly the kind of throwback experience they’re looking for.
The film has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format. The audio is an English audio track, and there is the option for English subtitles as well. As mentioned earlier, this isn’t just an old print slapped onto a Blu-ray. The film has been given a full 4K restoration, offering a considerably cleaner and sharper presentation than past releases, and the audio is clear.
Special Features:
- 2025 Commentary track by Rob Kelly noted film historian, podcaster and artist.
- Archival Commentary track by Bob Minor, Actor and Stuntman
- Video Featurette ‘Cuckoo for Pyschotronica’
- Photo and Poster Gallery
Packed with a fresh 4K restoration, two commentary tracks, a video feature, and a gallery, this Blu-ray offers plenty for fans of vintage erotica to dig into. It also sits nicely alongside VCI Entertainment’s other erotica releases. If ’70s sleaze is your thing, VCI Entertainment and MVD Visual have put together a Blu-ray that will make a fitting addition to your home video collection.
