This week’s AEW Collision was a packed and exciting episode that kept the momentum rolling toward the summer months. The night opened with AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defeating Blake Christian in a hard-fought match despite outside interference. After the match, chaos broke out when The Young Bucks and Lee Johnson attacked Swerve, but Kenny Omega made a shocking return to even the odds, electrifying the crowd. In the women’s division, “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Queen Aminata in a Women’s World Championship eliminator, showing once again why she’s a cornerstone of the roster. Meanwhile, FTR took on The Paragon’s Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong in a gritty, physical tag match, with FTR emerging victorious. However, Daniel Garcia’s post-match attack on FTR and apparent alliance with Adam Cole added major intrigue to the growing faction wars. Elsewhere, Bandido retained the ROH World Title against Dralistico, CRU toppled Top Flight in a wild tornado tag match, and Rush dominated AR Fox. Overall, this episode of Collision featured some great matches but faltered in terms of too many squash matches – time that should’ve been spent on the full matches we did get.
