‘WWE Raw’ Review (Mar 31st 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on the now Netflix-broadcast show…

From the moment WWE Raw went live from the O2 Arena in London, the atmosphere was electric. With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, every segment, every promo, and every match felt like it had weight behind it. This wasn’t just another weekly episode—it was a statement.

It was only a matter of time before Cody Rhodes and John Cena came face-to-face again, and when they did, they delivered a promo battle for the ages. Cena pulled no punches, bringing up Cody’s past in AEW and accusing him of failing as a leader. Cody, never one to back down, fired back with claims that Cena had overstayed his welcome in WWE and was using this feud to stay relevant. The tension boiled over when Cena took a swing, but Cody ducked and hit a Cross Rhodes, leaving Cena sprawled out in the middle of the ring. It was an intense, personal, and brutal segment that blurred the lines between reality and storyline—exactly what a WrestleMania main event build should feel like.

The New Day faced off against the returning New Catch Republic in what turned out to be a show-stealer. The chemistry between both teams was undeniable, and the action never slowed down. In the end, The New Day secured the victory with a perfectly executed Daybreak, but the celebration was short-lived. The War Raiders emerged post-match, setting up what could be a major tag team clash in the near future.

When GUNTHER steps into the ring, you know someone is going to suffer. That someone, this week, was “Big” Jim Uso. The match was physical from the opening bell, with GUNTHER controlling the pace and dismantling Uso piece by piece. A devastating Gojira Clutch forced the referee to stop the match, but GUNTHER wasn’t done. He kept the hold locked in, sending a clear message—until Jey Uso hit the ring to make the save. The brothers reunited and stood tall, but GUNTHER had already done what he wanted—he left a lasting impression. If there were any doubts about whether he’s the most dangerous man in WWE, they were put to rest.

Logan Paul continues to prove that he belongs in WWE, and his segment with AJ Styles was another step in solidifying that. Cocky and brash as ever, Paul taunted Styles, questioning his legacy and wondering if “The Phenomenal One” still had it in him. Styles didn’t need to say much—one right hook shut Paul up, but the damage had already been done. These two are on a collision course for WrestleMania, and it’s shaping up to be a must-watch.

The night concluded with a Women’s World Championship match between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley, with Bianca Belair serving as the special guest referee. On paper, this had all the makings of a classic. Both competitors brought their A-game, with Sky relying on her aerial prowess while Ripley countered with sheer brute force. But the real story wasn’t about who was the better wrestler—it was about the referee. As Ripley nailed the Riptide and went for the cover, Belair hesitated. Was it an accident? Was it intentional? Either way, that moment of indecision allowed Sky to recover, leading to a chaotic finish that saw Ripley fuming and Belair walking away without giving any explanations. The seeds for their WrestleMania collision were well and truly planted.

Final Verdict: 4/5

As great as the night was, it wasn’t without its flaws. A production mishap during the GUNTHER-Jim Uso segment saw Jey Uso’s entrance video play before he even ran out, taking away some of the surprise factor. It’s a small issue, but in a business built on moments, little details matter. That said, this episode of Raw did everything it needed to. It built hype, advanced storylines, and left fans wanting more. With WrestleMania 41 right around the corner, the stakes have never been higher—and WWE delivered a show that made sure we all feel it.
