‘WWE Raw’ Review (Mar 17th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on the now Netflix-broadcast show.

Match #1: No Holds Barred Match – Penta def. Ludwig Kaiser

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In a savage No Holds Barred Match incorporating steel chairs, Kendo sticks and brutality, Penta defeated Ludwig Kaiser with the Penta Driver before vowing to go after the Intercontinental Title during a post-match interview.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #2: Dakota Kai def. Ivy Nile

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the final moments of Dakota Kai’s match against Ivy Nile, Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee charged the ring to get payback on Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers. During the chaos, Kai used the distraction to overcome Nile with the GTK.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: Jey Uso def. Austin Theory

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Moments after overcoming Austin Theory with an earth-shattering crossbody in less than one minute in Brussels, Belgium, “Main Event” Jey Uso took out A-Town Down Under before repelling a post-match attack by World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee def. The Creed Brothers

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Seconds after Rey Mysterio picked up the win for himself and Dragon Lee over The Creed Brothers with the 619/Flog Splash combination, a mysterious luchador once again emerged from the crowd to ambush and decimate The LWO.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #5: Intercontinental Title Match – Bron Breakker def Finn Bálor

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Dominik Mysterio attempted to help Finn Bálor win the Intercontinental Title from Bron Breakker by interfering on the apron, he accidently caused his Judgment Day cohort to fall onto the ropes. Breakker quickly disposed of “Dirty” Dom and Carlito before overcoming Finn with a Breakkensteiner/Spear combination.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

Well that was a thing. I don’t know what the WWE are playing at with these European shows… The crowds are going wild – as they should given how “rare” it is for the WWE to come to Europe (it’s not like them travelling around the US is it?) – but the in-ring action feels perfunctory, with [seemingly] little to no thought about providing REAL stand-out action, as if they’re coasting on the goodwill of eager crowds. At least we got two good matches int the opener and the main event… Hell, even the official synopsis’ are, frankly, crap for these shows too, focussing on everything AFTER the match rather than the match themselves!
