‘WWE Raw’ Review (Feb 3rd 2025)
Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on this week’s Netflix-broadcast show!
Match #1: Penta def. Ludwig Kaiser
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Penta scored another huge Raw victory when he took down Ludwig Kaiser with the Sarcafice/Penta Driver to settle their Royal Rumble dispute, or so he thought. When Pete Dunne interrupted Penta’s post-match celebration, it opened the door for Kaiser to unleash a vicious post-match attack.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: The New Day def. Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After an altercation between Rey Mysterio and Logan Paul, The Maverick took out The Legendary Luchador at ringside before throwing him back in the ring. This paved the way for Kofi Kingston to hit Rey with Trouble in Paradice for the three-count. Mysterio will look to bounce back when he battles Paul in next week’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: Liv Morgan def. Iyo Sky (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan earned a place inside the Elimination Chamber after Rhea Ripley’s confrontation with Raquel Rodriguez created bedlam.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: CM Punk def. Sami Zayn
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In an incredible showdown against Sami Zayn, CM Punk earned his place inside the Elimination Chamber when he countered his opponent’s Helluva Kick attempt with the Go to Sleep. As Punk and Zayn shared a handshake after the match, Kevin Owens suddenly emerged from nowhere and launched a vicious sneak attack on his best friend that culminated in a Package Piledriver.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
This was one of those “building” episodes, where more time was spent on post-Royal Rumble promos and action that the wrestling faltered. Considerably. In fact, having only 4 matches felt like a massive cop-out to me. Being on Netflix should’ve meant MORE wrestling not less! I get it, there’s a lot more freedom with time and content but it does seem like the WWE is still trying to figure out how the new format works and in the meantime we get less-than-stellar shows like this week’s episode. Thankfully we did get THAT main event to raise things up at the show’s close but, for me, it was too little too late.
