Vince Gilligan Set to Return to New Mexico With Fresh Series

After making one of the greatest television series of all time in Breaking Bad, Vince Gilligan managed to keep the standard impeccably high in his follow up, Better Call Saul. Now, fans of the esteemed writer and director are desperate to see what he can come up with next.
The wait for a new Gilligan offering is finally over, after it was announced that Apple TV+ has ordered two seasons of a fresh series with the Breaking Bad creator at the helm. There’s not much information about the title yet, but it will see Gilligan return to his much-loved New Mexico territory.
The Breaking Bad Legacy Lives On
Gilligan has worked on countless television shows over the years, but it was Breaking Bad that put him on the map and propelled his status to one of the best in the business. The Bryan Cranston-led title is often listed among the top television series of all time, and its legacy still lives on even though it finished airing in 2013.
Indeed, the AMC series still attracts a lot of interest, and the universe that it sparked exists in other media. Along with the Better Call Saul spinoff, there are numerous other titles that allow people to experience the world that Gilligan imagined. For instance, there was the Breaking Bad: Criminal Elements mobile app that absorbed people in the dark underbelly of Gilligan’s Albuquerque.
Reunited With Rhea Seehorn
Fans have been hoping for another spinoff in the Breaking Bad universe for some time, but it’s unlikely that it will happen now. While there hasn’t been much information about Gilligan’s new Apple TV+ series yet, we do know that it is a completely original offering.
The good news is that the director will once again be teaming up with a fan favourite actor from his previous works. Rhea Seehorn was arguably the star of the show as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul, and she’s going to be the main protagonist in Gilligan’s next offering.
The only other actor that’s been confirmed for the new series so far is Karolina Wydra, who will be recognisable to some viewers from her past roles in Sneaky Pete and Quantico. Aside from that, Gilligan will be working with many of his old crew from the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul days, so you can bet that the cinematography will once again be outstanding.
Gilligan’s new series is set for release in 2025 on Apple TV+. Although his past works will be hard to beat, he’s got the credentials to put out another stellar offering.
