by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: The Judgment Day def. LWO

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In an impromptu Eight-Man Tag Team Match, Rey Mysterio hit “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio with the 619. Liv Morgan, however, pulled her man out of the way before he suffered the a splash from his dad. Moment later, Dominik picked up the quick pin to secure the victory for The Judgment Day. When Judgment Day attacked their opponents after the bell, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley emerged to unleash hell on the dark faction and send a message en route to their Mixed Tag Team Match at WWE Bash in Berlin this Saturday.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #2: Damage CTRL def. Pure Fusion Collective

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the final moments of an explosive tag team match, Zelina Vega emerged looking for payback and took out Sonya Deville at ringside. The distraction allowed Kairi Sane to hit the Insane Elbow on Zoey Stark for the win as IYO SKY leaped onto Shayna Baszler at ringside with the Over the Moonsault..

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: Intercontinental Title No. 1 Contender Tournament Triple Threat Match – Jey Uso def. Kofi Kingston and Karrion Kross

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

“Main Event” Jey Uso hit Karrion Kross with a Spear/Splash combination to overcome The Harbinger of Doom and Kofi Kingston to advance to the second round in the Intercontinental Title No. 1 Contender Tournament.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: Braun Strowman vs. “Big” Bronson Reed (No-Contest)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After Braun Strowman chased “Big” Bronson Reed out of the ring, an out-of-control brawl stretched all the way to the parking lot. This culminated in Reed hitting The Monster of All Monsters with a Tsunami off a wall and onto a car.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #5: Intercontinental Title No. 1 Contender Tournament Triple Threat Match – Pete Dunne def. The Miz and Xavier Woods

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Although it looked as if Xavier Woods may secure the high-stakes win over The Miz with the flying elbow, Pete Dunne pulled the official out of the ring before the three-count. He then quickly took out Woods and hit the Bitter End on The A-Lister to steal the victory and advance to the second round in the Intercontinental Title No. 1 Contender Tournament.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #6: Uncle Howdy def. Chad Gable

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When the official got knocked out in the final minutes of Raw’s main event, The Wyatt Sicks emerged to neutralize American Made interference. The two factions battled into the crowd as Howdy regained the advantage and overcame Chad Gable in the center of the ring with Sister Abigail in his debut match.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

This week’s Raw was 100% saved by the matches in the second half of the show. Starting with the fantastic parking lot brawl between two man-mountains, which was a fascinating watch TBH; the show built to a great crescendo, with a great triple threat match and THAT brilliant Wyat Sicks main event, which was a wonderful homage to Bray Wyatt by his brother. Between the Bloodline and the Wyatt Sicksm WWE are hitting their stride in terms of really good storytelling. Hopefully the stick the landing on both in the future…
