‘WWE Raw’ Review (Jul 15th 2024)
Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Sheamus def. “Big” Bronson Reed
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Celtic Warrior took Reed on a tour at ringside, delivering 10 Beats of the Bodhran over the announce table before pulling in Raw commentator Pat McAfee for an embrace. Sheamus followed up with a huge White Noise in an incredible feat of strength but was unable to garner the win. Reed showcased his own strength as well, catching Sheamus to hit a huge powerbomb for a close two-count. Reed tried following up with a Tsunami, but Sheamus evaded the move before hitting a huge running knee strike to win the match. After the bout, Dunne saved Sheamus from Reed’s post-match assault until Dunne shockingly hit his former mentor in the back. Reed then hit a huge Tsunami to stand tall.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Sonya Deville def. Zelina Vega
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Competing in her first match since her return, Sonya Deville took on Zelina Vega. Vega landed the 619, but Shayna Baszler viciously took out Vega’s arm as the referee’s back was turned. Deville then used the fracas to hit Deville’s Advocate to win the match. After the match, Deville, Baszler and Zoey Stark tried further injuring Vega until Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance hit the scene to thwart the trio.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: Damian Priest def. Braun Strowman
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Damian Priest attempted to solve the Braun Strowman problem by himself in a clattering first-time match. Strowman tried to clear the tracks of Priest with the Strowman Express, but Priest moved out of the way and sent The Monster of All Monsters careering into the timekeeper’s area. With Strowman’s injured knee an easy target, Priest took down his opponent by focusing on the knee, grounding the former Universal Champion. With a huge feat of strength, Priest lifted Strowman for the South of Heaven Chokeslam for the three-count. After the match, Priest and Gunther engaged in a melee, with Priest standing tall.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #4: Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark def. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Kayden Carter and Katana Chance wowed the WWE Universe with a huge Keg Stand from the top rope that smashed into Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark on the outside. As the match broke down, Lyra Valkyria stopped Sonya Deville from getting involved. Her efforts were in vain as Baszler and Stark hit a huge tandem knee strike to win the match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: Jey Uso def. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
‘Dirty” Dominik Mysterio became enraged from the offset, taking out Jey Uso with venom. Liv Morgan came out to pull Mysterio out of harm’s way, much to Mysterio’s chagrin. Uso kicked Mysterio straight into Morgan on the outside as the two were once again seen in a compromising position. Rhea Ripley stormed to the ring, stopped Morgan in her tracks and sent her fleeing up the steps in the arena. Ripley ordered Mysterio back into the ring, only to be met with a Spear and an Uso Splash to allow Uso to win the match.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #6: Intercontinental Title Match – Sami Zayn vs. Ilja Dragunov (No Contest)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Sami Zayn put his Intercontinental Title on the line against the ferocious Ilja Dragunov in a showstopping main event. Zayn and Dragunov started the match in a chopping contest before Zayn hit a superb springboard moonsault to hit Dragunov outside of the ring. Dragunov tried going for the Constantine Special for a second time but was caught with the Blue Thunder Bomb which Dragunov barely escaped from. Zayn went for the Helluva Kick, but Dragunov countered with a clattering boot to the face. Dragunov followed up with a huge H-Bomb from the ring to the floor, smashing Zayn’s face. With Zayn back in the ring, The Mad Dragon hit a Coast to Coast. His attempt at a senton bomb backfired, however, as Zayn got his knees up. Just as Zayn and Dragunov were in the final stages of their blistering match, Bron Breakker emerged to attack both competitors. Breakker Speared both men to stand tall in the final moments of Raw.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
Just like last week, this was a poor episode of Raw, one that had average matches, with zero excitement to them; but a show that was saved from the total doldrums by its promos; and once again the Wyatt Sicks video featuring Erick Rowan – the way these promos are taking real life as a base and adding the eerie nature of the Wyatt Sicks is really next-level. Bray Wyatt would be proud. The only downside to all that? You can watch all the best parts of this weeks show – including the main event which was spoiled by the bron Breakker interference – online right now rather than sit through three hours of dullness.
