Match #4: Ricochet & Andrade def. JD McDonagh & Santos Escobar

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the height of an explosive tag team match, a double aerial assault by Ricochet & Andrade in which The One and Only used his opponent to hit a hurricanrana into a leg drop. This paved the way for Andrade to pick up the victory over JD McDonagh with The Shadow. After the the match, Damian Priest emerged to send a statement of dominance by taking out Andrade and Ricochet and informing “Dirty Dom” and McDonagh that they need him more than he needs them.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #5: Women’s World Title Battle Royal – Winner: Becky Lynch

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After an injured Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish to win the Women’s World Championship, Raw hosts a Battle Royal to determine the new titleholder. The free-for-all matchup came down to Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax. Out of that trio emerged The Man as the new World’s World Champion!

My Score: 4 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

A solid episode of Raw with some remarkable spots – and not just in the Battle Royal. The battle on the mic between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, Chad Gable going mega-heel and turning on Alpha Academy, Damian Priest letting the belt go to his head and THAT fantastic pre-Battle Royal behind-the-scenes sequence that took the WWE’s current obsession with fluid camerawork to the next level! There was plenty of storytelling this week and, thankfully a lot of it was in the ring. OK, so maybe before and after matches but at least the show didn’t rely on backstage interviews and vignettes!
