‘WWE Raw’ Review (Nov 21st 2023)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Nia Jax def. Raquel Rodriguez

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Battling through a back injury in the final moments of a highly-personal clash of titans, Raquel Rodriguez picked up Nia Jax from on the ropes and attempted to carry her out of the corner. Before she could, however, her back and legs gave out, and she collapsed. As she did, The Irresistible Force crashed down on her before hitting her opponent with the Annihilator off the ropes for the victory.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #2: Becky Lynch def. Xia Li

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Xia Li knocked Becky Lynch out of the ring with a spinning kick that she has used to conquer numerous opponents, The Man fought through it. Li followed her out of the ring. When she attempted another spinning kick, however, The Man dodged the strike and hurled her opponent into the ring post. Back in the ring, Lynch hit her opponent with the Manhandle Slam for the three-count.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #3: Johnny Gargano def. Ludwig Kaiser

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Out to prove his worth to Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser told Giovanni Vinci to stay out his match against #DIY’s Johnny Gargano. Nevertheless, Vinci came to ringside, presumably in an attempt to help “The Essense of Excellence” steal the victory. This caused Kaiser to become distracted, and Johnny Wrestling quickly hit a One Final Beat DDT for the win.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Match #4: Fatal 4-Way Match – Winners: Tegan Nox and Natalya

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the final moments of a high-stakes Fatal 4-Way Match, Maxxine Dupri secured a dominant advantage over Tegan Nox, thanks to the training of Chad Gable. When Maxxine attempted a high crossbody, however, Nox rolled through and picked up the quick pin to secure a future match against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Piper Niven & Chelsea Green.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #5: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Chad Gable

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Chad Gable slowed up to avoid an exposed turnbuckle, Shinsuke Nakamura took advantage and grabbed the quick pinfall.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #6: Drew McIntyre def. Jey Uso

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In a crucial showdown to determine the advantage in the WarGames Match, Drew McIntyre hit a Future Shock DDT to defeat Jey Uso.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

In a shocking move, the WWE actually put on a great episode of Raw! Yes, after what felt like the longest slump for the company’s flagship show, Raw finally comes through with an episode that delivered on good wrestling, some great matches, and storytelling that had purpose… Everything, EVERYTHING, was selling this year’s Survivor Series big time. I don’t think the excitement for a PPV has been this palpable since the last “Big Four” pay-per-view. Fingers crossed the show lives up to the hype and Raw keeps on delivering shows like this, or better after Survivor Series!
