News of the Night:

  1. Sting and Darby Allin will team with Shingo Takagi and Hiromu Takahashi to take on the Young Bucks, Hikuleo and El Phantasmo at Forbidden Door
  2. It will be IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Switchblade” Jay White vs. “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada vs. “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Adam Cole at Forbidden Door

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

What a show! Besides some FANTASTIC wrestling, this week’s Dynamite was filled with fire promos. Bryan Danielson opened the show by teasing a hand-picked replacement for him at Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts (it has to be Cesaro right?) and Christian Cage cut a SAVAGE promo on Jungle Boy – perfectly tuned to get him heel heat and get him back in the spotlight. That opening Trios match is one of the best matches of the year for AEW. Seriously. The rest of the card was good, but opening with that match set a bar I don’t think anything could meet. But hell, the ENTIRE show built oh-so-well to this Sunday’s Forbidden Door… It really did. So much so that whilst I am away for a brief break (and no, the site and reviews WON’T be affected) I’m still going to buy the PPV on Fite.TV and watch it live – at midnight – in my hotel room!
