The Best Superhero Films You Can’t Afford To Miss In 2021

by James Smith

2021 is going to be the year of the blockbusters. 2021 is going to be the year of the superhero blockbusters.

Yes, you have heard it here. We are telling you that next year, you are going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to the geeky favorite, superheroes.  But which ones do you queue up with your popcorn to watch, and which ones do you wait to come out on the TV? After all, not all superhero movies are created equally. Which ones do you follow up with a game on kazino?

Here we look at the cream of the crop, the superhero films that you absolutely cannot afford to not watch in 2021.

Marvel’s Black Widow

ETA: 7th May 2021

Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, has been a central piece of The Avengers all through its running, so it is more than time enough for her to get a movie of her very own. Black Widow, which was originally due for release this year and was put back not once, but twice, fills in the missing parts of Natasha Romanoff’s backstory. The movie takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Romanoff must contend with her past as a spy and the fractured relationships left in her wake long before she becomes an Avenger while being pursued by a power that will stop at nothing to bring her down

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

ETA: 9th July 2021

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sees the Marvel’s first Asian lead character in the form of Simu Liu, as well as starring roles from Awkwafina and Tony Leung. The plot line and premise has been kept tightly under wraps so far, other than knowing that the Ten Rings, who kidnapped Tony Stark and led him towards becoming Iron Man, are involved. We can’t wait!

Eternals

ETA: 5th November 2021

This one doesn’t shy away from the big names – the stack cast features some big Hollywood names such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Kit Harington, to name but a few! The film takes place after the events of The Avengers: Endgame and follows the story of the Eternals, an immortal alien race who have hidden themselves away for 7000 years, as they come out to protect humanity from their evil counterparts.

Morbius

ETA: 19th March 2021

This spin-off from the incredibly popular Spiderman enterprise, Morbius stars Jared Leto, alongside Netflix hit The Crown’s Matt Smith as a scientist suffering from a rare blood disease. The problem he has that in his attempts to cure himself has ended up with him having becoming a vampire of sorts – a thirst for human blood but with superhuman abilities. How does he balance his morals to help people while not wanting to drink their blood?

The Suicide Squad

ETA: 8th August 2021

Harley Quinn, played by the undeniably cool Margot Robbie is back for business. This time, Margot is joined by the devilish Idris Elba, a fellow member of the Suicide Squad. Again, the plot has been kept tightly under wraps but what we do know is that it is not intended to be a sequel to the original but a stand-alone film – and possibly, a lot darker than the rather tame PG-13 original. Let’s see!
