‘WWE 205 Live’ Review (Sept 18th 2020)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this week’s WWE205 Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have two matches here and some Pixie Stix. MINE! Hey, it’s not my fault Muddy Waters got all over your tires. Next time, don’t run him over! BA BA BA BA BA! OWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! BA BA BA BA BA! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! BA BA BA BA BA! OWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! BA BA BA BA BA! He’s dead. You know what’s not dead? 205 Live! Let’s watch it!

Match #1: Ariya Daivari def. Eli Night, Bobby Flaco and Jason Cade – Daivari’s Dinero Division Challenge

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Ariya Daivari put his money where his mouth his by creating Daivari’s Dinero Division and offering up $10,000 to any newcomer who could pin or submit The Persian Prince. Daivari quickly dispatched of Eli Knight and Bobby Flacco dishing out a Hammerlock Lariat for each competitor. The final challenger Jason Cain went on the offensive early trying to cash in on the opportunity. Cain put up a much tougher fight than the first two competitors, but Daivari was able to rally back and land one more Hammerlock Lariat to keep his status on 205 Live and his bank account secure.

My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was a Gauntlet match that was booked to put over Daivari, who is getting much better than he was there for a good, long while. The first two were squash matches…I…RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! NATHAN SMASH! HIM…DIP-SHIT! HIM SMASH PUNY BOOKER-MAN! SMASH HIM GOOD! NA…I…I’m fine. Whew. Anyway, the third challenger put up more of a fight then the first two and it made the match better. All in all, this was otay!

Match #2: (Main Event) Tony Nese def. Danny Burch

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The last time Danny Burch squared off with Tony Nese an attack by Ariya Daivari on Oney Lorcan derailed the match and The Premier Athlete chose not to capitalize on the opening. Burch would go on to win that match thanks to Nese’s honorable but misguided tactical decision. With Daivari sitting on commentary for this showdown, The Persian Prince’s presence loomed over the match. The clash was an impressive display of skill between the outstanding Cruiserweights as Nese and Burch traded huge blows. Burch delivered a blistering clothesline to The Premier Athlete that almost locked up the match for the British brawler. This time Daivari distracted Burch and Nese didn’t hesitate this time and crushed his opponent with a Running Nese for the win.

My Opinion: 3.7 out of 5 – These guys have a very charming chemistry to them, which is a wonky way to say these guys did a great job together. Burch has that old school tough guy thing going on that I like and Nese is just an all-round great, so this was a blast for me to watch. I wanted these guys to whoop each other’s asses all night long, but that would be assault, so that ain’t happening…because they’re pansies. How can you go wrong with this pairing? You can’t…got it? I have a bug up my butt and this match has greatness written all over it.

Final Verdict: 3.5 out of 5

This was a simple, easy show that delivered just what it should have.
