101 Films to release Adam Simon’s ‘Brain Dead’ on Blu-ray!
101 Films are set to release Adam Simon’s Brain Dead, a mind-bending nightmare based on a story from The Twilight Zone writer Charles Beaumont, for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK as part of their 101 Films Black Label.
The Eunice Corporation is on the ground floor of an exciting growth industry, utilizing a memory re-sculpting technique pioneered by eccentric neurosurgeon Rex Martin (Bill Pullman). It envisions nationwide clinics where anyone can lose the hang-ups of an unhappy childhood, a failed romance or a botched career. At Eunice’s “New You” outlets, a simple operation will give customers peace of mind. Or it might leave them brain dead. But when Martin refuses to cooperate with Eunice, he soon finds himself plunged into a surreal existence that intertwines dreams and reality. Has Martin slipped over the edge into madness? Or have corporate profit mongers given him a push, making him the guinea pig in his own experiment? To know the answer is to know true terror!
Extras on the 101 Films Black Label release of Brain Dead include a new documentary on the film, a new interview with director Adam Simon in which he discusses Brain Dead and working with Roger Corman, and a booklet with new writing on the film. The initial run with booklet and slipcase is limited to 3000 units.
Brain Dead will be available on Blu-ray on 28th September 2020.
