‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (April 28th 2020)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I look like that boy from “A Perfect World” once he puts that Casper costume on. This week, we’ve got a couple of matches that’ll make you go “I like penguins!” Hey, would you like a pair of flip flops? Well, too f—— bad…you get wrestling.

Match #1: Jimmy Havoc defeated Shawn Dean

My Opinion: 2.8/5

This was way too short, but not bad for some-thing that was less than five minutes. Havoc is having a pretty good run lately, but I wish that the booking would let him past the point he’s being kept at. Dean did good and has a hand to hang on with, but Havoc had more than one hand for grabbing the brass ring up Dean’s ass. That didn’t make sense, but it’s the way I talk (like skiing with a bowling ball). There’s not too much else going on here besides Havoc keeping his streak of solid just as such, but Dean did well for a marked man and even managed to fire off a shot or two of his own.

Match #2: (Main Event) Best Friends defeated Lee Johnson and Musa

My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5

This wasn’t too bad. Musa lik…no more Musa jokes. I did them enough with Dynamite the other day. There’s plenty of action here, but don’t go thinking you done walked into ECW by way of Billy Blanks now. Once again, I don’t make much sense, but at least this match did. Now, if you’re looking for the best of the Best Friends, then you might leave this a bit disappointed, but at least you get enough of that team to whet your whistle. Hey, whistles have gotta be sharp too…for what I don’t know, but I don’t like to argue with any-one crazy enough to hold-up a liquor store with a whistle either. I’m getting off topic. Lee and Musa worked hard to keep-up with the Best Friends and managed to keep the distance from getting too wide down the final stretch of the track. Over-all, tooth-paste tastes like s— and this match was fine, in a WWE Heat/Velocity kinda way.

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

There’s less than ten minutes of wrestling here, but these guys had a bit of fun doing their thing and I didn’t have such a bad time either, so 2.5.
