‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Jan 14th 2020)
Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the episode where the Memphis Wrestling Legends actually get their due. This was supposed to happen on last week’s AEW: Dynamite, but look how that turned out. Any-way, we’ve got that here, so call Taylor Swift and tell her to bang a squirrel, because…I forget. Call Taylor Swift and tell her to f— a squirrel.
Match #1: Darby Allin defeated Brandon Cutler
My Opinion: 2.8 out of 5 – This was a nice match, but not enough of Allin doing his thing. Also, this was far too short. Why was this so short? Balance your cards better and you’ll have time for a fifteen match on this show. Booking. Learn how to do it.
Match #2: Nyla Rose vs. Shanna (No Contest)
My Opinion: 1.4 out of 5 – Rose is a big b—-. This was just brawling with the big b—- stomping on Shanna like an elephant at a mouse-house. Why not just let them wrestle? This pisses me off.
Match #3: (Main Event) Billy & Austin Gunn defeated Shawn Spears & Peter Avalon
My Opinion: 2.6 out of 5 – The Gunn family did nicely here, but the match belonged to Spears and Avalon. There might just be a future for that team. Austin has loads of charisma and paired off well with his dad. This was a cool little match.
News Of The Night:
- The tribute to the Memphis Wrestling Legends turned out well, with an introduction for each and a salute. This was better than the wrestling.
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
The tribute to the wrestling legends was cool, but the rest needed some work.
