‘Ring of Honor’ Review (Dec 1st 2019)
Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have The Snyder Cut. I’m just yankin’ your chain. I don’t care. It’s wrestling time. Wait, it’s 14:35. Tim Robbins, baby!
Match #1: Silas Young and Josh Woods def. The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser and Brawler Milonas), Coast 2 Coast (LSG and Shaheem Ali) and Soldiers of Savagery (Moses and Kaun)
The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
All four teams had their moments in the match, but in the end it was Young and Woods who prevailed to remain undefeated. Young catapulted LSG into Woods’ flying knees for the win.
My Opinion: 2.8 out of 5 – This was pretty good, mostly because Silas smacked the s— out of everybody. Why is Silas not getting more World Title shots? Who did he piss off? Greg Gilliland/Gilleland/who gives a s—? Just give the walking mustache his main event spot already. As far as the match goes, there’s some fun brawling and there’s a lot of life to this, which is more than I can say for me.
Match #2: (Main Event) PJ Black def. Kenny King (w/Amy Rose), Eli Isom and Ultimo Guerrero – Fatal 4 Way Match
The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Black scored the victory after hitting Isom with a moonsault/low double stomp combination. At one point during the match, King wowed the crowd by doing a running dive off the stage over several rows of fans onto his three opponents.
My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – This was a good closer for the show, with Black making for a proper winner. There’s nothing here that is bad, but the match did suffer from being stunted by way of too many folks in at once. There’s a lot of talent in here. When is Eli gonna get a shot at a big victory? Holy Toledo, Ultimo Guerrero was here…and lost. With talent like this, there’s no reason for ROH to have the problems drawing some money that they have now.
Final Verdict: 3.2/5
This was a simple show that won’t bring in many new viewers, but it held down the fort.
