Brit horror sequel ‘The Rizen: Possession’ to premiere at Sci-Fi London

by Phil Wheat

The Rizen: Possession, the sequel to Lost Eye Entertainment Ltd. 2017 original, will be premiering at the Sci-Fi London Film Festival next month. The film follows a group of urban explorers and a private mercenary unit as they unwittingly embark upon an underground military base used for secret, occult experiments in 1955 in a bid to win the Arms Race.

In 1955, NATO and the Allied Forces conducted secret, occult experiments in a bid to win the Arms Race. They succeeded, and what they unleashed almost tore our world apart. On the brink of apocalypse, it was only through the silent self-sacrifice of an incredible female Army Captain (Frances) that our world was saved.

Today a group of urban explorers and a private military unit could become the final pieces in a 60-year plan to reopen a door that Frances has been holding closed ever since. As the urban explorers break into the facility that still echoes with the horrors of the past, they are hotly pursued by a shadowy mercenary group with a single mission statement of ‘Neutralize & Extract’. Before they can complete the mission however, the events of 60 years ago begin to repeat themselves.

Grace, one of the explorers, begins to experience Frances’s memories (much to the confusion of her adopted brother, Adam) – it seems, she has been chosen as a sacrifice to close this door to our annihilation, once and for all.

The work of H.P Lovecraft remains a staple of the horror genre and this independently made British sci-fi film is set to remind audiences just how chilling and exciting tentacle monsters and cosmic creeping dread can be. The Rizen: Possession also has some heavy hitters involved for a low budget indie film, including Julian Rhind-Tutt (Stardust, Tomb Raider), Sally Phillips (the Bridget Jones Diaries films), Adrian Edmondson (Bottom, Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Sarine Sofair (Game of Thrones), and Stephen Marcus (Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels).

Sci-Fi London will be hosting this World Premiere of The Rizen: Possession, followed by a cast/crew Q&A, at Stratford East London PictureHouse on Wednesday 22nd May at 8:45pm. Tickets can be purchased here: bit.ly/2uFt45F
