Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have another good week to look at, so let’s hop in the ol’ imaginary ring and help me pretend I know what I’m talking about. Hey, I said that last week. Screw it.

Best Promo:

Gender Wars (Impact Wrestling) – A great promo between Scarlett Bordeaux and Disco Inferno about a woman’s place in wrestling led to Scarlett getting the most un-likely match possible, that being a bout against Disco Inferno himself.

Best Move:

Yurinagi (WWE) – Samoa Joe used this move to get his first WWE title.

Best Moment:

Major League Faction (Major League Wrestling) – Contra Unit ripped Ace Romero to pieces to sell the new faction as a powerful new entity in the league.

Best Personality:

Shane McMahon (WWE) – Shane’s turn on The Miz, despite being contrived, was well done and it came across as every bit as despicable as it should have been.

Best Character:

Ronda Rousey (WWE) – Ronda turned heel to great effect by saying things that had to have come from the heart, mainly about how she now hates wrestling fans.

Best Performance:

Cedric Alexander (WWE) – On 205 Live, Cedric had a great match against Akira Tozawa that really made for a fantastic main event, thanks to Cedric wrestling like lightning on fire…that sounded stupid.

Best Wrestler:

Ace Austin (Major League Wrestling, Impact Wrestling) – Ace took this entire week as his opportunity to make a case for this being his year.

Best Card:

Fastlane (WWE) – While this was not the best show, the card was great on paper but lame in practice, yet still being the best card of the week.

Best Show:

NXT (WWE) – NXT came and went like water in the river. Everything was good to great, but it was the way it all got booked together that made it a success.

Best League:

WWE – A lot of 3.5 scores for WWE TV shows got the league here this week.

Best Match:

Jordan Devlin versus Travis Banks – Falls Count Anywhere Match (WWE NXT: UK) – This was a great sort of grueling fight to the death that felt like it came from another time.
______

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This turned out pretty well this week, but it did have some warts on the skin, if you catch my drift.
