Three movies set to excite in 2019

by James Smith

2019 is set to be another year of cinematic success. However it has a lot to live up to following an incredible 2018. Here are three movies that are set to excite and should not be missed for movie fans in the coming 12 months. These are likely to prove popular selections for the highest grossing film markets.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino this film is set to be a classic and is due to be released at the latter stages of 2019. The cast has a number of the biggest names in film with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt playing two of the leading roles, as two aspiring TV stars hoping to succeed in the film industry. This is all based in Los Angeles back in 1969 during the time of the Manson family murders. This mystery crime film has been made on a budget of around $100 million but can be expected to be a huge success as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

The Irishman

Another exciting crime film set to be released this year is the Irishman. Directed and produced by a legend in Martin Scorsese, this has been in the works for some time and has the highest production budget of any of his movies at $200 million. This has been a desired project of his since back in 2014, and filming began in New York back in 2017. The film is set to star a cast of legends in Robert De Niro as Frank Sheeran, Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa and others such as Joe Pesci and Anna Paquin. This means it will be the ninth collaboration between De Niro and Scorsese and could be set to be a classic for years to come.

The Woman in the Window

A movie that will not gather as much attention as the previous two in the list but could be one of the top films of 2019. The mystery thriller is directed by Joe Wright with the screenplay adapted by Tracy Letts. It is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by author A.J. Finn. It is scheduled for release at the end of the year and stars names such as Amy Adams, Julianne Moore and Gary Oldman. The plot of the movie is based around an agoraphobic child psychologist who witnesses a crime whilst she is spying on her neighbours. She is then left with the difficult choice as to whether or not to alert the police.
